We head out into the hallway, once we get the controls for the collar around Loki's neck. As we walk through the hall Loki speaks in a low growl, "I'm gonna burn this place to the ground."
"We'll show you where my desk is, you can start there," Mobius chuckles. We continue to walk, but soon Loki slows down. When I turn back to him, he is looking out one of the windows. Mobius gestures toward the window, "have a look."
Loki slowly approaches the window and looks out over vast city that we live and operate in. He looks astonished, which is to be expected, "I thought there was no magic here."
"There isn't."
I cross my arms, "it's the wonders of technology." Loki looks back over the city, "come on, they're only gonna give us so long before they decide to prune you again, and there'll be nothing either of us can do to stop them."
I turn and start walking with Mobius and Loki, Loki is full of skepticism, "that's not real."
"What, the view?" I chuckle and turn back to him, "no, no, you're right. This is all just some game, some ploy to get you to talk. What do you think this place is?"
Mobius shakes his head, "it's real, and, unfortunately, so is all the paperwork. Good tinder for your fire, though. Come on."
Loki continues to walk with us, "this place is a nightmare."
"That's another department. Now that department I'll help you burn down." When we get to the elevator Mobius presses the button, since he is the closest. When the doors open Loki tries to step in, but Mobius stops him, "ladies first."
I look up to Loki, who straightens himself up, seemingly a bit sour that he didn't get to go first, "thank you."
We get into the elevator and start to make our way down the giant building, but we aren't heading to our offices but rather a place to prove to Loki that we are who, and what, we say we are. While we ride down Loki sighs, clearly bored and tired of whatever he believes is happening here. Mobius looks to Loki and extends a hand, "I'm Agent Mobius, by the way." He then gestures over to me, "and this ray of pure sunshine is my partner, Agent Kamaira."
"Kamaria," Loki tilts his head, "I've heard that name before during my travels. In one of the places I visited it means Moonlight."
I look over to Loki and scoff, "don't try that shit on me, alright? You aren't gonna charm your way out of this."
Loki straightens up a bit, realizing he's going to need to find a different approach in order to escape, "are the two of you taking me somewhere to kill me?"
"No," Mobius shakes his head, "that's where you just were. We're taking you some place to talk."
"I don't like to talk."
I chuckle, "but you like to lie, which you just did." I look over to Loki, who is looking at me as if no one has ever called him on his crap in his life, "look, we both know you love to talk."
"Talkie, talkie," Mobius lifts a hand and moves it as one would a puppet.
Loki looks between the two of us and decides to talk to Mobius, "how long have you been here?"
"I don't know," Mobius shrugs, "it's hard to say, time passes differently here in the TVA."
"What does that mean?"
The elevator doors open and I step out, "don't worry, if you're half as smart as you think you are, you'll catch up."
Loki walks between Mobius and I, "so you two are part of the TVA's courageous and dedicated workforce?"
"Yes," Mobius responses.
"You were created by the Time-Keepers."
"Yep."
"To protect the sacred Timeline."
I look back to Loki before I start down a small set of stairs, "look who's catching on." Mobius starts down the stairs as well, but Loki stops at the top of them and laughs. I stop and take a deep breath, "something funny?"
"The idea that your little club decides the fate of trillions of people across all of existence at the behest of three space lizards, yes, it's funny. It's absurd."
I look over to Mobius and smirk, Mobius nods and smiles as well, before turning to Loki, "I thought you didn't like to talk." Loki scoffs as we wait for the doors to open.
Once the doors are open, I gesture for Loki to go in, "after you."
