I had walked beside Rose and Lissa, they both looked like they were tired and broken.

"You look how I feel."

"I look how I feel."

I looked over at Rose, she had tense shoulders and I seen that she was ready to drop. I kept near her just incase she actually decided to do so. I looked at Lissa and smiled.

"If you need a shoulder to cry on, use mine, not Christian Ozera's."

"Who told you?"

"We was sort of... you know, there."

Her eyes widen as she looked at us.

"Oh, not again. That's so gross."

"I know, and it was, like, the longest one yet. Thankfully it was before I started training with Dimitri."

"You seriously can't turn it off?"

"I don't know."

"Have either of you ever seen me go to the bathroom."

"No, but thank you for giving me something to look forward to."

I tried not to laugh as Lissa pulled out her beeper.

"No wonder I'm so cranky. I'm starving."

We walked into the white room, it was like a spa. The walls were bright and lots of small separate rooms. The Moroi have a system called the human feeder program. Human civilians systematically giving their blood.

"I'm going to stay outside, have fun."

I made it to the small waiting room, the feeders weren't bought here forcefully but they had a one-year service limit. If they want to leave then they're memories are compelled away.

"Andrea."

I looked over to see Victor had sat there, two guardians standing not to far off. The burning had slowly come back, I slightly cringed as I looked at him.

"How was your first day of training."

"Good, I just didn't realize my strength compared to the Dhampire."

"Giving Dimitri some trouble."

I smile as he laughs, I shake my head as I sigh.

"No, he's a good instructor. I'm just use to more, in our communities we had multiple people at once fighting us."

"Tell me, my darling, while you were gone, did Lissa get any closer to declaring."

"There's not a lot of places to practice magic in Portland."

"Oh, true, true."

Rose had come up and sat down beside us, he smiled and spoke to her.

"I understand the gravity of what you did, but I think headmistress Kirova failed to acknowledge something. You did keep her safe all this time."

"We'll it's not like I had faced strigoi or anything."

"But you faced down something."

What does he know, the burning had started to hurt. He was trouble but without any proof it was unrealistic anyone would listen to me.

"Sure. The school sent Psi-hounds once."

"Remarkable."

"Not really, avoiding them was pretty easy."

He laughed and even though he sounded cheerful, it was cold and exaggerated. I didn't know if rose was picking up on it but I couldn't help but look at his guardians.
