Melisa arrived at her new home and stayed in awe because of how beautiful it was. She had seen photos on the page where she found the house but seeing it up close made more of an impression on her. And the best thing is that it was already furnished, she only had to bring some furniture from home. She got out of her van and with her arms on her hips, sighed and turned to remove the boxes from the car. She took out two of the smallest ones and walked to the entrance of the house, with a little difficulty she managed to open the door and entered finding a cozy atmosphere.
Melisa put the boxes on a table next to her and turned to go through the other boxes, leaving the door open to avoid further complications. As he left the house, he found a small group of people in front of his car and talking to each other. She cleared her throat and everyone turned to see her, she gave them a confused smile. Well, I was not expecting that, she thought.
She approached keeping her smile, hoping they weren't serial killers. She stood in front of them. A man dressed as a policeman (ok, that freaked her out a bit), a girl with brown hair down to the waist and an awkward expression, a man in a wheelchair with a black hat and finally a boy with long black hair behind the man in a wheelchair.
- Hello? - she said. Taking in her confusion, the man dressed as a policeman spoke first.
- Hi, I'm Charlie Swan. - He said extending his hand for her to shake which she gladly accepted. - We found out there was someone else in town and we saw you arrive, my house is a few houses down the road. Seeing that you are moving, we came to offer our help in whatever you need.
- Oh, you didn't have to bother. I don't want to be a burden. - she said quite embarrased.
- Do not worry about that, we were delighted. By the way, I am Billy Black and this is my son, Jacob. - the man in the wheelchair said and the boy steps out to shake her hand.
- Nice to meet you both. - she said in a soft tone that everyone present could feel a hint of warmness in their chests.
- Oh, right. This is my daughter, Bella. - the girl shakes her hand and gives a small smile. Melisa corresponds.
- It is a pleasure to meet you all - Melisa said excitedly, she loved meeting new people. - I'm Melisa Baker but everyone calls me Honey. It is because of my hair color and some people say is my personalityt too. - she explained after seeing their confussion.
- Well, it does suits you. - Billy said with a kind smile. Melisa laughed and thanked him.
- We came to help you and we plan to do that, so help Honey with her boxes. - Charlie said to Jacob and Bella as he took the handles of the wheelchair. Both of them quickly agreed and Melisa took them to the backsit of her car. With two boxes each one, they entered the house. Melisa, Charlie and Billy trailing behind them.
- Wow, Honey! Do you bake or something? - Jacob exclaimed in surprise when he saw that what was inside the boxes were baking products. Melisa laughed at his expression.
- Yes, I actually have a bakery in L.A. and I already bought a place to put it here, it's called Honey Bakery. - She said helping him to get the things out of the boxes. All of them looked surprised.
- Really? That is amazing! We will be your first customers. - Billy said with a big smile.
- Well, you won't have to wait long because before leaving L.A. I prepared some boxes with few of my desserts. Have the confidence to grab whatever you want. - Melisa said taking out the boxes with her desserts and offering them.
Bella was the first to come up and grabbed two lemon cookies, then it was Jacob grabbing a chocolate cupcake with the same flavor frosting, Charlie grabbed some honey oatmeal cookies and Billy, coffee macarons. The four of them bite the desserts at the same time and the look in their faces was priceless. They all were in awe.
