The boys arrived at the hospital and Jacob quickly got out of the truck to ask for help, returned with a gurney and two nurses by his side. The others got Honey out of the truck and Jacob helped his dad into the wheelchair. A few seconds later, the police car could be seen entering the parking lot. Charlie had arrived. Once Charlie got out of the car, he rushed over to them and they all entered behind the gurney on which they were carrying Honey. A nurse asked Billy what had happened and he explained everything, omitting the golden mist that came out of her hands and the color change in her eyes.
There was not much information on what could have caused that accident to Honey and the nurses did not know where to start, until one concluded that they should call someone who could be of more help in this type of cases. Said nurse turned to a passing doctor and spoke to him in a hurry.
- Call Dr. Cullen. Is an emergency. - With that said, the doctor nodded and went in search of the blond doctor. The boys didn't like the idea but they knew it was for the best.
A nurse approached all of them and asked them to stay in the waiting room and that she was going to inform them of anything that happened with Honey. The boys, Billy and Charlie were hesitant when they saw Honey being taken away to another room, but they knew they couldn't go against hospital rules. They sat in the waiting room and the air around them was filled with heavy feelings.

Carlisle was finishing organizing his desk and with his briefcase in hand, he was ready to head home. On the outside he looked like he was doing ordinary chores and he looked so relaxed doing it, but on the inside he was in a mess thinking about the beautiful honey-haired woman who was driving him crazy. He wanted to see her again, he longed to have her close and enjoying the company she could provide him. He wanted to get home because for several minutes he had been carrying a heavy feeling that he did not know how to decipher and he needed to see that his family was well. There were a lot of things crossing through his mind.
Honey. That bad feeling. His family.
His body was moving and he was about to leave his office but his thoughts were elsewhere, which were interrupted by a doctor who came running towards him and seemed to be in a hurry.
Carlisle noted the sweat on the doctor's forehead and how agitated he looked. He wondered what it was that had him like that but his doubt was answered when he saw the door of the emergency stairs open and many people around the elevator. Carlisle was concerned that something must have happened for the doctor to be in that state and to have been willing to take the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator.
- Dr. Cullen...need you...emergency...unconscious...blonde. - The doctor was so agitated that it was very difficult to understand what he was saying, Carlisle managed to understand certain words thanks to his good hearing. It was when the doctor finished speaking and leaned against the wall that Carlisle lost himself in thought again.
Emergency. Unconscious woman. Blonde.
Rosalie? No, of course not.
Carlisle started walking with a hurried step towards the emergency stairs but realizing that he didn't even know where he was going, he turned to the doctor and asked him on which floor.
- Emergency...room. - he managed to listen.
Carlisle went down the stairs as fast as he could using a little of his speed but not that much because he didn't want to risk someone being near there.
He reached the floor and opened the door with a loud bang that rang throughout the corridor and earned a few glances but he didn't care because every time he approached the emergency room, the feeling he brought got bigger and bigger and the worry it was consuming him. He passed the waiting room and a bad smell hit him, he took a look and found Quilete Boys, Billy and Charlie. He didn't stop to think what they were doing there because he saw his children and Bella rush into the hospital. He kept walking hurriedly until he met Edward's concerned gaze and as Carlisle got closer and closer to the emergency room, he heard something that clouded his vision and he stormed into the room.
- Is Honey.
There she was. His precious mate lying on a gurney with her eyes closed and connected to monitors that marked her heart rate. Her hair was spread out over the pillow and she had a calm expression, her chest rose and fell, her pulse was somewhat irregular as the monitors marked, her hands slightly trembled. Carlisle had millions of scenarios going through his head. Honey didn't look hurt, at least physically.
A nurse noticed his presence and approached him with some sheets containing what little information they knew about what had happened to Honey. Carlisle took one last look at Honey and thanked the nurse and then scanned the information they had and frowned when he saw that there was no indication of what could have caused the headaches, it could have been anything, but, to the fact that she had lost consciousness and has not awakened for a while must have been a very intense one and that worried him even more. Along with the worry it brought, his frustration began to grow because he did not know what was happening with his mate, he did not know how to help her, how to heal her. The only thing that occurred to him was that they had to wait.
- We will just have to wait until she wakes up. - he told the nurses and they left a little while after they checked up that everything was in order.
When they left Carlisle alone with Honey, he approached her bed and sat down taking her hand in both of his. Carlisle let out a loud sigh (yes, they weren't supposed to breathe but they made it more of a habit to be around humans) and dropped his forehead into his hands still wrapping Honey's. He hoped that everything was fine with her and that it was not much of a serious problem, but something told him to keep a positive attitude towards it.
Now it was time to go and tell those in the waiting room that Honey had not woken up yet, that they were going to have to wait a while and what he most feared to say was that he had no idea what was going on with her. It was not something he could deduce with the naked eye, he could not send her for tests or without knowing if any of them could cause a negative reaction. He was aware that everyone out there cared about her and, knowing that he doesn't have a single idea what happened to her, it could go wrong. His children would be worried about her for not knowing if she is in danger or not, let alone the wolves, who imprinted on her.
He tried to appear as calm as possible and left the ER in the direction of the waiting room. He arrived and was met with a somewhat confusing and uncomfortable scene. The quilete boys sat on one side and their children on the other glaring at each other while Billy, Charlie and Bella kept a somewhat tense and uncomfortable expression. Carlisle wondered what could have happened to make them end up like that. Removing that thought from his head, he cleared his throat, gaining the attention of everyone present and getting everyone to form a half circle in front of him looking at him carefully. Everyone was silent for a few seconds, Carlisle was looking for the right words to deliver the news but he could not find them. Billy had enough of it and was the first to break the silence.
- Carlisle, what happens with Honey? - the blonde doctor decided that it would be best if he said it without sugar-coating it.
- We don't know. We don't have a lot of information and it is almost impossible to know what happended to her if we don't have it. She hasn't woken up yet and we need her to do it so we can talk to her. We cannot send her for tests in case there is a negative reaction.
- So, what do we do know? - Bella asked. Carlisle looked at her and everyone present.
- We wait. - Edward answered after reading Carlisle's mind.
Hey! I'm so sorry for taking a long time to publish a new chapter, but I've had a very busy last two months and it was difficult for me to find the inspiration to write and find the time for it. I'm trying to make up for that lost time with this chapter, which is a little bit long.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! All late but better late than never.
I hope you will enjoy it!
Take care and stay hydrated <3
