Ray looks back to see Norman and Y/n stay behind, being curious, he hides and listens in. It was quiet for a moment as the sunset was in the background before seeing the two brace themselves before letting go.
"Norman....I need to tell you something."
His eyes widen as he hears Y/n's voice cut through the silence and his heart drops once he figured out what's about to happen.
Of course, it was Norman's last day so it would be obvious what Y/n was going to say. She was going to confess her feelings and now he wouldn't have a stand with her.
Unable to hear this, he turns around and begins to walk away but-
"Don't start a war without me, okay?"
Eh?
He's freezes up, he didn't expect this, no this was totally out the blue. He rushes back to see Y/n looking at Norman with a serious expression on her face as Norman does the same.
Before a smile appears on the girl's face, "come on, let's go!" Norman nods before smiling.
"Yeah."
They both start to head back and Ray quickly ran inside, waiting by the door as if he didn't listen in their conversation. Neither of the two acknowledge his presence as they walk inside the building and without another word, they separate ways as Isabella calls Norman.
"I'll see you later, Norman." She says without looking back at him as he does the same.
"Hm."
Norman replies before going upstairs as Y/n goes her separate way, leaving Ray a bit confused about their small interaction just now.

The time for Norman's shipment soon came, everyone except Y/n and Ray were present to say a goodbye. Although the white haired boy was still feeling a bit anxious and scared, he had trusted Y/n's words from their conversation on the wall earlier that day. He would face his fate with confidence and be prepared for anything.
Although his moment with Emma was cut short to Mama, he was able to catch a glimpse of Ray standing on the stairs who refused to look at him.
As for Y/n, her back as faced to him as he looked at the house, to her at the window before finally walking away.
As the two slowly approach the gate, Norman finally asks the question in his mind. "Mama, are you happy?"
Isabella is quiet, her humming coming to a stop before she answers Norman's question.
"Of course, I was grateful to have the chance to meet someone like you." She moves the suitcase in her hand a bit, "your suitcase is empty, Norman."
The boy looks at the gate as he swallows his saliva, "I don't be able to take things where I'm going."
Isabella give a side glance before smiling sadly, "How do you live with the fact that you sent Y/n's brother to his death and kept giving her hope?"
The black haired woman's eyes cast down onto the lantern in her hand before answering. An image Y/n's smiling so innocently crosses her mind.
The two were almost at the gate so she decided to just give him an honest answer.
"It was a promise I'm fulfilling for Osamu, letting her live this long and her happiness was all he ever wished."
