After Sister Krone was gone, Isabella quickly noticed how gloomy you were more than usual and that began to worry her even more.
Although you were finally let of the infirmary, you would spend the days outside underneath the tree with your head on your knees without saying a word to anyone.
Was it a mistake to get rid Krone that fast?
She watches as you mess with a stick, drawing something on a patch of dirt near the forest as everyone else was doing their own thing.
Norman and Emma had past you earlier but you didn't seem to pay much attention according to Isabella. She watched as they approached you and said a few things to you but you didn't really react.
Seeing that you didn't want to speak, they both left but not without Norman giving you a headpat.
Today was the day both Emma and Norman would go and inspect the wall while Ray would distract Mama, Gilda and Don would give them a signal if something would go wrong.
—
You sat down underneath the tree with Carol in your arms, you watched her with sad eyes as you remembered what Mama said to you a few days ago.
"What is it Mama?" You asked as you closed the door to her office, it was around midnight when she called for you.
She gave you a smile but you could tell that she forcing her smile as it made you frown.
"Mama?"
"My dear (Y/n), I have exciting news to tell you but you have to promise to stay quiet about it."
Your eyes widen slightly but you stayed calm, you weren't going to let yourself break in front of her.
You stood up as soon as you saw Mama reappear from the forest, Emma in her arms as the girl whimpers in pain. You glance down to see that Emma's leg was mostly likely broken.
By Isabella.
She looks over to you, a confident smile on her face as she told you to make sure everyone was inside soon.
"Norman is getting adopted soon! Isn't that wonderful!"
Your eyes widen but you forced a smile, "of course! That means Norman is going to get to see the outside world." You said excitedly as she giggled.
"I guess I got worried for nothing, I was afraid you would get upset from hearing the news." She told you.
"Nope! Sure I might like him and all but I do want him to be happy even if it means he gets to leave first! After all, we'll meet again outside anyways!"
"Isn't that right, Mama!"
You look at the older woman, her words echoing through your mind as you stood there.
"I'm sure the two of you will meet again."
In that very moment, you couldn't help but feel like the child you were, you finally felt the pressure of the situation as everything came crashing down on you once again.
Like on that day when your brother and friend were shipped out, leaving you all alone.
—
That night, you stayed away from the trio as you busy yourself with chores around the house, your mind was all over the place. Norman was going to be shipped tomorrow and you couldn't do anything-
You pause while folding the laundry in your hands, your furrow your brows as you thought of only one thing to at least make it easier for Norman.
"Y/n, can you help with the babies? I need prepare some paperwork for tomorrow." Isabella says as she walks in, a baby in her arms as you turn to her.
"Oh, of course! I'll make sure to put them to bed after washing them." You says as you put the last piece of clothing into the basket as she hands you the baby.
"Thank you, I'll be going now." You nods your head with a fake smile as she left. Your expression turns into a neutral one as you watch her walk away.
'Don't worry Norman.'
—
The next day came quick, Emma and Ray hoped that Norman would be able to escape over the wall so he wouldn't be shipped so they waited near the house as it was playtime.
Neither had noticed Y/n slip past them, her e/c orbs dull as she glances at them as she walks inside the forest after Norman.
—
At the sunset, both Norman and Y/n, hand in hand, walk back to the house Emma and Ray watch in disbelief at the sight of him. Norman's face held a forced smile as Isabella approaches them, Y/n doesn't say anything as she held onto Norman.
"Norman, Y/n, you two took your time." Isabella says as she looks at the two, her eyes soften for a moment before telling everyone to head back inside for dinner.
As everyone heads back, Norman follows but he feels a tug on his arm and looks back to see Y/n standing still, her hair covering her face as she looks down.
He sadly smiles as he walks back to her figure and ruffles her hair. Her e/c eyes tear up as he pulls her for a hug.
"Everything...is going to be okay."
Isabella watches from afar, a smile plastered on her lips as the scene plays out in front of her.
"Hm, I believe you, Norman."

A/n: should I make another book like this but instead of it based off the manga, it's based off the anime?
