The first time I worshipped the moon is a painful memory.
A memory I need not remember.
As life is what it is, so is past.
Dream of future, think of future.
Perhaps, one day, I'll leave the moon behind.

Occasionally, I would scold myself.
When lonely, I forced myself to believe their was someone beyond the moon coaxing me.

They said they were waiting for me.
'Be strong, I will find you'
'It's okay, I will save you'

The voice changed everyday
But My Moon was always the messenger

Of course, it was all false
There was no saviour for us
Too many years had passed
I grew hateful towards the moon

You were the only god I believed in
How can you abandon me when I was the most desperate?

When the operation became public
Civilians and nobles alike cheered for the warrior

You freed those poor souls!
You good man!
Wonderful man!
Courageous!
Fearless!

The higher ups were supposedly punished, but I know the truth
Nobles of too high status could not be accused

They apologize and all is forgiven

While we, the poor souls, are thrown away, forgotten, or relocated and left to die in the hands on another

Dear Moon, were my prays too childish?
Childishly wishing for it all to be over
Childishly wishing for a warrior to save us
Childishly wishing for the bad people to pay for all they've done

Or, was it just childish to pray?

My hate brewed too long. I shimmered in it day and night. Hate was my very reason to live. Revenge fueled my empty, starving stomach.

They chased me as their prize experiment, but never caught me

Perhaps, it was a blessing in disguise
Sometimes, disguises lead to interesting results

I would've never met him
Or them
Or her
Or them

Then again, the moon must find those blessings very funny

Giving a bit of relief
Snatching it away

So cruel, My Moon

But, I forgive you

Taking a blood drenched sword into my hands, lifting it high above my head, slashing with no return.
I forgive you. I hope, as my life fades now, you forgive me as well.
