Seonghwa had made up his mind. He was going to ask Hongjoong out and hopefully by the end of it all, end up being his boyfriend. If he says yes that is. Seonghwa was very confident that Hongjoong wouldn't say no but the worries and insecurities was still there for no reason. Well for a reason of course. He was nervous for what his actual answer was going to be.
Making sure the coast was clear, he had asked the whole gang to help him. Even Yunho agreed to help him set it all up, Yunho knew Hongjoong had a crush on Seonghwa, of course he didn't tell him but it was definitely the reason why he decided to be a good pal and help set them up. Seonghwa was ready to break the rumors about him and that girl, of course when Hongjoong was comfortable being public with their relationship.
Hongjoong was currently in his shop alone. It was a tuesday after all everything was slow on these days. His days were kind of slow recently, as if something was missing. He couldn't quite put his finger on what it was but it was definitely something, or rather, Someone. Shaking off the thought a regular walked in, it was an old lady who always bought from his shop.
"Hello Ah-Eun, what can I get you today?" Hongjoong smiled warmly at her as she came to the front.
"Ah, a small bouquet of roses will be fine. I'm visiting my husbands grave, oh how he loved roses back then" She stifled a laugh.
"Will get right back to you!" Hongjoong spoke as he went out back.
Hongjoong noticed how much the small bouquet of roses was, it was a bit of money and more since last, especially because it was season for higher prices. Hongjoong felt bad because he knew she wasn't that well off so he decided to follow what his heart told him to do. Give it for free.
"Here you go, Ah-Eun." He handed her the bouquet and smiled.
She was ready to pay before Hongjoong put his hand so she couldn't and smiled.
"it's on me." Hongjoong said as he smiled warmly.
"Oh my dear, thank you so much, you always know how to be so kind. I'll repay you someday!" Ah-Eun said as she squeezed his hand and turned around to leave.
Once she left, Hongjoong smiled softly as he looked around, he stopped once he saw a gentleman standing across the room, he figured he had watched the scene play itself out as he smiled at Hongjoong.
"You have a kind heart you know..." Seonghwa spoke as he walked forward.
"It's the least I could do..." He rubbed his neck as he blushed lightly.
"Can you close early?" Seonghwa asked
"Uh yeah, I don't have much to do anyways, today was slow so, yeah. Why?" Hongjoong looked up and met Seonghwa's eyes.
"I want to take you somewhere!" He smiled at the younger as he nodded.
After Hongjoong locked up the shop, Seonghwa handed him the extra helmet and smiled a bit, sending him a half apologetic smile before getting onto his motorcycle, Hongjoong joining him. After that they began driving towards wherever Seonghwa was taking him.
Soon enough Hongjoong saw a more forested area, filled with green trees and beautiful colors of all sorts. Flowers and such scattered across the floor of the forest as they kept driving. Eventually coming to a stop. Seonghwa was the first to get off as he helped Hongjoong off the vehicle. Taking off their helmets and setting them by the motorcycle. Hongjoong looked around in awe as he took in the scenery.
It was beautiful, in the forest a beautiful path was laid out on the ground as he wondered if that's where Seonghwa wanted to take him next, his question soon getting an answer as Seonghwa grabbed the youngers hand and led him down the path soon to reveal a beautiful landscape.
Hongjoong was shocked as he saw it, across the landscape there was different types of flowers scattered across the path, leading down to a tree where a picnic was set up, small petals laid around the floor as well. Just by the look of it, Hongjoong could tell they were fake and that relieved him a bit. Seonghwa kept dragging Hongjoong down the path carefully and slowly. Making sure he can take it all in before they eventually are going to have a picnic. God I just want to kiss him.
Eventually they found their way to the large tree where under it was a blanket with different things on it, perfect for a picnic. Hongjoong looked at it in awe as he watched Seonghwa come to a stop and turn around towards him, smiling.
"So since it's, again, my turn to treat our hangout. I thought this place would be perfect!" Seonghwa smiled as he looked the younger in the eyes.
"It's absolutely perfect, Hwa. I don't know how you found this place but it's beautiful!" Hongjoong smiled back at him as they settled down.
Not long after they began eating the delicious food that Seonghwa had brought along. Both of them broke into a conversation like they always did. They talked about whatever was on their mind and just kept talking. Hongjoong specifically kept bringing up where they were and how beautiful it was. He was utterly speechless as to how Seonghwa found this place and just how amazing it was.
Seonghwa however, was growing nervous as time went on. He still hadn't said anything and he knew he had to at some point or else it would be too late. How was he going to ask it? When's the right time for it? He couldn't help but ask himself all those questions as time went on and he listened to the other ramble about whatever he was currently talking about as his little debate in the head went on.
"Hey Hongjoong" Seonghwa started, Ok here goes nothing.
"Yeah? Oh, you look pale, are you ok?" Hongjoong asked.
Seonghwa looked down at his hands, he did look very pale, but not for the reason Hongjoong thought, but rather because of the question he was soon going to ask.
"Uh, I was wondering something" He blushed as he made eye contact with Hongjoong.
"What's up? You can tell me everything!" He said as he smiled.
"Uh... I- uhm... Does this shirt fit me?" Seonghwa mentally face palmed at himself. Good going you damn idiot.
Hongjoong laughed a bit at the others behavior, he couldn't help but think it was quite cute how he was so nervous about something.
"I'm guessing this wasn't really what you wanted to say based off of your expression" Hongjoong said as he smiled, and chuckled a bit.
"I- no... ok, uhm Hongjoong?" He started again.
Hongjoong hummed in confirmation that he was listening.
"Willyougooutwithme?" Seonghwa asked in one breath, maybe a bit too fast.
Hongjoong chuckled again, he heard what he said but teasing the older was just too funny.
"Hm?" Hongjoong questioned, holding in another chuckle
"Will you... Will you go out with me, Kim Hongjoong." Seonghwa asked again, gaining a bit of confidence.
Hongjoong's heart speeded up as he was filled with excitement, he embraced the other as he nodded frantically.
"Yes Seonghwa, I will!"
Seonghwa smiled as he held Hongjoong's hand, although he was stupid and a nervous wreck, it all worked out in the end.
