Alyss new what her and Evelyn's plan sounded like to the men. It sounded like a good way to get themselves killed. That's why she couldn't hold it against them for worrying too much. She was finishing her packing and making last minute preparations for there embark across the large lake to find the homeland of the mythical people Hasanu. She had to wonder if they were right about the plan. It did sound crazy and rushed. Maybe it was.

Alyss was so in thought that she didn't hear Will walk up behind her. His mouth opened ready to say something, but ended up closing it. Deciding whatever he was going to say wasn't important. How could he watch her go? To a place he could not follow? Is this how she feels every time I go on a mission? How could she go on living with this feeling? It gave Will a whole new appreciation for her strength.

Alyss turned to grab her list and was slightly shocked to find Will standing there? He was trapped in his head just as she was. She gingerly took a step forward.

"Will?"

The sound of his name on her lips brought Will back to the here and now. He looked up to find Alyss's concerned and questioning eyes. Will swiftly closed the space between them and embraced her. She laid her head in the crook of his neck. Welcomimg his comfort. If Alyss was going to go out and embark on this quest then Will was going to hold her for as long as he could. He wouldn't stop her, he wouldn't argue, nor would he ever bet against her. She was going to return. He had to believe that. Then why was it so hard for him to let go?
