Corvex was watching as Astrie fell to the ground. While cushioning Astrie's fall through the force Corvex manoeuvred himself to dodge the blast of lightning. Driving his green lightsaber towards the neck of the horror, Corvex leapt. The miscreation, through the force, pushed Corvex back through a tree. Crraack. Corvex felt his rib fracture.
"Your padawan is strong. But when I reach out in the force I sense nothing but a cold heart. Nothing good, and something beyond evil. Your council may try to train him, but they will fail. Not even I would dare train him to his full potential.
"If I were a part of your council I would have A) killed him, or B) exiled him. And even then I think death nor time would mark him."
Corvex refused to listen to the Sith. He knew it was a distraction. During his time undercover, on Korriban, he learned the combative secrets of the Sith. The extensive training had, for a time, twisted him to the dark side. He was thankfully able to snap out of the hideous trance and escape to Taris.
"Distractions are for cowards" Corvex shouted while charging. Making sure to keep his feet on the ground.
The Dark Berserker went to push him off his feet. Quickly slashing at the hand Corvex jumped, successfully egging the Dark Lord to grab the blade and pull it to the ground. Letting go of the blade, letting it drop, Corvex charged bolts of blue lightning in his left hand. Corvex grasped the Sith's shoulder. Lightning coursed through its body putting him to his knee.
"You are strong. But, do you know who I am? I am Darth Malgus of the sith empire." Malgus's voice rang with hatred.
Fear, like a raging fire, tore through Corvex. With Malgus hurling lightning into the air the clouds darkened.
Astrie stood up from the ground, watching as Corvex froze as Malgus shouted "I am Darth Malgus" Astrie looked at the lightning flowing to the sky.
"I don't give a womp rat about who you are. I'm still going to kill you." Lunging into battle the plants around them seemed to change to Autumn colours, and the air grew cold and crisp.
As the lightsabers clashed it started to seem like Astrie was winning. His jabs were quick and barely dodged, his slashes were accurate so much that Malgus struggled to block them. Slowly but surely though, Malgus was getting faster and better.
It wasn't long till the vegetation underneath them was completely dead. Now Astrie could charge up his force judgment. Charging the lightning, Astrie launched his body towards Malgus. A well-timed kick hit the Side of Malgus's stomach sending yellow-orange lightning crackling out of his foot and into Malgus's side.
...Cold...
The lightning burst was freezing instead of the normal hot electricity. Ice crystals formed on the clothes of Malgus.
"The cool touch of death. Impressive, but sadly you will not live to learn of its true power." And with that Malgus walked off as if nothing had ever happened. The pure horror Astrie felt after watching the Monstrosity of a Sith walk off as if nothing had ever happened.
As Corvex got up he noticed the damage around Astrie. "What happened? Where is he?"
Astrie just looked at his master. His purely emotionless face was now pale with terror. A moment of realization hit him, Darth Malgus was toying with him. Not only was he unfazed by combat, but Malgus was also able to control it. A true battle master.
"I'm sorry master. He walked away, right after I hit him with my Force Judgment. Nor was I even able to land a single hit on him. He moved so fast. Who was he?" The last question was the only thing Astrie could have cared about.
"His name is Darth Malgus, a sith General and tactician. His most famous achievement was the sacking of Coruscant."
Astrie's memory of the incident flashed through his skull. He vowed vengeance, redemption, and justice in the name of all who died by the hands of...Darth Malgus... If anyone was there to see the aftermath, they would assume that they were happy or that they had won, but they walked with relief, that they would live to see another day.
---The Silentium---
Aboard the Silentium (Corvex's starship) Astrie and Corvex could slip through space undetected. The ship was small but big enough for around 5 people. It had a cockpit for 2, a centre room with a holoprojector and 2 couches, a crew quarters with a three-person bunk bed, and a bathroom-like pod that branched off the crew quarters.
While Corvex was preparing for a meeting with the council, Astrie was washing up. Looking up into the mirror he saw the mark under his eye. Quickly running the hot water he scrubbed at it. Nothing, not even a smear.
"Astrie, everything is ready. And don't worry about the mark on your face. I have a book that might help us figure out what it is. So for now get out here and greet the council."
Slapping his face he relaxed back to his emotionless face, now he was ready. Walking out he was met with the blue pictures of the Jedi Council.
"Hello Astrie Mell, it has been a while since you have graced us with your presence. What did you do this time." Satele Shan said in her sarcastic voice.
Astrie was about to apologize but Corvex interrupted. "He held his own against a Sith lord."
"Oh, really?" her sarcastic growl almost made Astrie flinch. "Do you, by chance, have any proof of your accomplishments?" her stare was cold.
Astrie rapidly searched for an answer. Childishly he replied, "I got this scar." Pointing at the blue mark under his left eye.
Satele Shan took one small step back in shock. "I've only heard about that on one other person. In an ancient text, I read a Jedi had a very similar mark. It's called a Cyrogem, forged when one faces death and survives. The ancient Jedi with a Cyrogem obtained it by surviving a planetary bombardment. A rare focus. I am indeed impressed." she said, turning her panic into a proud, rewarding voice.
