Corvex was sitting on a mat meditating. This was about time but something seemed off. As Astrie walked in Corvex's left eye twitches, as if he was wincing in pain. Astrie knew better then to interrupt a meditating Jedi, something Mail drilled into his head. Instead he sat down and tried to focus on a matter that was bothering him.
Awhile ago Astrie saw Corvex's datapad. It read "wee shanit." A set of words meaning bounty hunter. He questioned why his master would be looking that up. Corvex spoke huttese, infact he was formerly in charge of teaching it and other common outer rim languages. But there was also the matter of the Holocron. He refused to tell anyone about it's existence. He wanted to but knew if he did... Let's just say his questions wouldn't be answered.
A calm yet exhausted voice rang out to Astrie, A voice he's heard before. "Astrie... Astrie... Did you find what you sought? The unobtainable knowledge?" A black figure appeared in his mind. It took the form of a cloaked man. His face mangled and his arm missing. The most noticable thing was the crown upon his head. "Knowledge only a sith can obtain, but only a Jedi could want. That's the curse isn't it? It's useless to the dark side, but the light cannot hold it." The figure started to fade. "Only my love used it. And only I have known it. I can help you, but first you must help me."
The figure blurred to an all too familiar shape, Darth Hades. His consideration dropped, as did his temperature raise.
"Astrie, are you okay. Your temperature is hot, even for a normal human." Corvex had snapped out of focus after sensing Astrie's stress. "Let me grab an ice pack, and medical help. Try and calm yourself down."
Astrie shifted uncomfortably, his head pounded, and he felt freezing, for once in his life. "Ice pack will be fine. No need to worry Master Adriana or Worr. They have enough problems."
Corvex quickly returned with a cooling pack. He understood Astrie's want to not trouble them. "What troubled you? It's not like you to be put into shock from fear."
"I-i-i." Corvex wanted to tell him, but Astrie knew the cost. "I saw a vision in the force-" instead Astrie would strike two Furrds with one stone. "I saw a datapad, it had the phrase 'Wee Shanit' on it. Then I saw something, No! I felt something."
"Funny, I think you saw my datapad. Before I saw my datapad out with a search to translate it."
"But you know Huttese?"
"I know, that's why I found it concerning. Now more then ever, because of your vision, you have a mission that means life or death. Maybe just for you, or for the whole order. We need to find who searched up the translation, or the bounty hunter their looking for."
Astrie hated lying to Corvex, but what else could he have done. Though thanks to Corvex he felt worse. Wether or not Corvex knew Astrie was lying he did know Astrie didn't give the full truth. Astrie was on his way to meet someone who might help him. Though Mail was never friendly, she still had high morals. She was trustworthy with anything. Sometimes Astrie would go in secret to share his discoveries with her.
Mail seed to always be interested in what missions Astrie was assigned. No matter how boring he thought them to be. He had left her a note when they were feuding to meet him at the Twi'lek settlement. Thanks to past connections Astrie was welcome anytime, though he didn't go much.
"Looks like I beat you here. You always were slow when it came to walking." Mail stuck her hand out to shush him. "But not when coming up with a comeback. Glad you're back, you cathhound."
Astrie looked up to the fully clothed Mail Ordo, an enigma to Astrie. Then again most people were. "Thanks, I think."
Mail's face turned started to grow red, Astrie assuming it was anger, prepared for her assault. "It's a worrying thought. Losing a member of the wolf clan that is. Wolves stick together, and I guess that's why we have permissions most Jedi don't."
Astrie reached up to grab her hand. The hill wasn't steep but he knew that Mail would try something, she always did. "Well that's why I wanted to talk. I found something, something big, but I can't tell anyone. And now neither can you."
Mail hesitated on answering. She didn't know much of his mission, Master Satele had refused to talk about it. "Absolutely, I may bully you but secrets are safe with me" she paused as if thinking about her next words. "Expecially yours."
It was now Astrie's turn to freeze. "I found a sith Holocron. Some spirit told me it held knowledge to defeat the sith."
Mail gained a look of hope. "Then why don't you use it? That power would help bother the Jedi and the Republic. In fact it would save the entire galaxy from a plague."
"I can't." Astrie looked at the ground. "He also said only a sith could learn the knowledge. It's pointless, if no one can stop the sith. When I battled that sith apprentice. He was strong, too strong. The sith are organized. And battling Malgus..." Astrie froze, words stopped forming but his lips kept moving.
Mail tried to read his lips, but it wasn't readable. "When you want to talk about it, I'll listen, like I always have."
"I have another question. What were you doing at Corvex's place with his datapad?" Astrie earlier had sensed her presence on the datapad.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't go near that old shack he calls home."
Astrie and Mail's faces scrunched up in anger. No matter what, they would find a way to argue.
"I sensed you. You can't lie."
"Fine. I was researching a past mission. Remember how there was a mandalorian in the sacking of Coruscant? My mission was to find her. All I was able to find was a huttese phrase, 'wee shanit' and a name, Visla. The council replaced me saying it was in their hands now, but they didn't do anything."
Astrie understood her frustration, but rivals are rivals. "Don't lie to me next time, you sleemo."
Mail's face grew red. "I may not speak huttese but I know what that means."
Mail charged a punch. Astrie realizing what was happening ducked. She shouted a few unpleasant words in Mandalorian then tackled him down the hill. Astrie was quick to draw his lightsaber.
"Bring it on, sleemo." Astrie's taunt infuriated Mail. And after a flurry of blows Tibleb walked over.
"Teeb pep bloon tee. Yaw wah tien mah. Tub yib nub." Though Astrie couldn't understand ewokese he knew what he was saying.
Mail disingaged and deactivated her lightsaber. "Master Adriana wants to talk to you, and I have a meeting to go to."
As Mail walked of Astrie went to mask the Holocron but it was gone. Mail flashed Astrie a look. She started a fight just to steal from him.
