The strange droid lunged at Hail. Astrie moved his ready blade in the way. The clashing sounds of lightsabers fueled Astrie's interest, but something to take care of another time.

The crackling sparks flew from the wall as the droid overpowered Astrie and lunched his lightsaber into the wall. Astrie prepared for a continuous battle but instead, the droid made a backwards thrust stabbing Hail in the leg. Then the strange droid proceeded to deactivate.

Astrie de-ignited his lightsaber. Quickly grabbing Hail he tended the wound the best he could. Hail fainted most likely from the pain and the weight of age.

"Just don't die till we get to Tython" he muttered picking up the old man and carrying him away to his ship. Loading him onto the couch in the holo room.

Astrie walked into Corvex's training room. There Astrie saw a group of Republic Commandos armed with vibro swords. They were pressing an assault on Corvex, but Corvex's green lightsaber crackled to life. His perfect form IV "Ataru" and form III "Soresu" combo made him impossible to hit. By using Soresu's feat of keeping the lightsaber close to him he could block quickly, and the use of Ataru's acrobatic attacks allowed him to get close and strike without leaving his saber position from Soresu.

Astrie felt compelled to join in the flurry but knew it was better to wait. The commandos were quickly disarmed. One almost hit Corvex but he was able to perform his signature "Flying Gundark." A move that required the user to focus the force to the feet to perform a series of kicks and saber strikes. If done properly, one can disarm the opponent and knock the wind out of them at the same time.

After about half of the 25 commandos, were disarmed Astrie joined in. His execution of form VI "Djem So" was flawless. The power behind his attacks made him slow to recover but he easily sliced through vibro weapons and Shields. He sometimes even shattered them. Though controlling his strikes he looked like a barbarian. After three commandos were left Astrie struck at Corvex. Astrie's strike was easily evaded by the acrobatics of Corvex.

"It's been awhile, but it seems you've kept you same underwhelming technique." Even now Corvex found himself wielding his tongue more than his blade. A weapon he was trained to use at the academy.

Corvex's time on Koriban had been long, but to him it felt longer. His only communication was cut off only to what, kill a member of the dark council? Failure had not been an option, but he failed. Worse than failure, he was turned. Even if it was only for a few weeks it still tainted him and chewed at his mind. There he learned secrets of the sith he thought would be useful.

The sith academy was ruthless, so when it came to keeping his cover, so was he. He landed and went to the academy. Corvex had claimed to be a Jedi defect. Building bonds with the sith leaders till his time came. He even went out with a group of trainee to the tombs to forge a lightsaber. In the small tomb of Darth Medless he found a crystal. The already red crystal sounded as if it were crying. When he picked it up he felt a shock.

Corvex felt a conection with this blade, and the more he weld it, the more the blade turned white. After the crystal was completely white he forged it with his green one. Finally he was ready, only to find the sith had gone missing a few days before. This is when Corvex failed... And when he fled to Taris... Only to find out he was being fallowed by Darth Malgus.

Astrie jolted back. The other commandos stepped back knowing not to get involved.

"It truly has, but I thought the extra time you spent learning you would be smarter."

Corvex felt a small sting in his arm. "Well then let's see who wins."

Continuing the dual they talked. Astrie asked "What was it like, Learning the secrets of the sith I mean?"

Corvex thought for a good minute before answering. "I felt strong, yet weak. Powerful, but tired." Corvex chuckled to himself. "The dark side is powerful, but all power comes with a price. It deformed me the more I lent on it. It sapped my energy more than anything."

"Was it stronger than the light side?"

Corvex and Astrie seemed to slow down, not only in combat but also their senses.

"No, only faster." Corvex's saw Astrie's confusion and reached for a more in depth explanation. "The dark side is powerful, but only in bursts or the heat of the moment. The hate needed to fule that power is extreme. Only people who lost one too much think it's stronger. Instead of honing you skills, the dark side grants you power, but many forget..."

"... Power comes with a price." Astrie finished off the sentence and the assault.

They walked out of the training room into the main hallway. The dimly lit room inspired a calm atmosphere, and the paintings on the wall were a variety of blue, green, yellow abstract works.

Astrie started his report. "I went to the planet as requested."

Corvex cut him off. "I didn't assign you this mission, Master Satele did. It's not to be reported to me but to her. I can connect you via holo or you can preferably see her in her quarters."

Astrie felt compelled to meet by hologram but he knew that Corvex, by putting emphasis on preferably, that he was commanding him to see her himself.

"I think... I think I'll go see her myself."

Corvex smiled and patted him on the shoulder. "Good choice."

While Astrie was on his walk, to the temple, Corvex continued what became his daily routine: combat training, eat, study ancient texts, and meditate. Corvex regularly would skip a meal, but today he wasn't. His favorite meal since Koriban was roast kor'slug, but that wasn't accessible on Tython. Instead he went down self discipline and the saving of the money route, meaning Republic military rations with hot sauce would do.

As Corvex sat down he realized his data pad was on. Glancing over he read the words "Wee Shanit." A common phrase on Tatooine or Nar'Shaddaa, but not Republic space. Who would search that up? Corvex unpowered the data pad and walked to his private library.

Not many Jedi were lucky to have their own living quarters, but Corvex was given one as the Jedi council's way of saying you're not needed. Corvex always found that funny. The council would send Jedi on missions that risk their lives and side of the war, then, when it was over, they would say "hey, we don't want you in the order anymore, but here's a new home."

His house on Tython was large enough to fit a training room, Which was really four rooms and demolished walls, a library, also his bedroom, and a kitchen. He found that using the bathroom in nature was cheaper.

"Free home but unpaid for bills." Corvex muttered to himself.

"I couldn't agree more." A male voice rang through the door way.

Turning around Corvex saw Worr and his blue skin. Worr had always been open, about everything. He didn't believe in privacy, at all. That's why he hung around Corvex, mynocks of an asteroid stick together.

"What is it that you need Worr?"

"Sir, my master wishes to speak with you. Something about an approaching darkness on Tython. Oh! And more importantly a man your former Padawan brought in."

"And I always thought he had a thing for girls." Corvex laughed allowed. Worr uncomfortably stirred. "It was a joke."

Worr looked around confused pointing around. "OH!" Worr started to laugh uncontrollably.

Corvex and Worr walked off laughing and joking, hiding the fact they were terrified of Master Adriana.
