Chapter 1: Getting out
It's been two weeks since my parents shot me. They are still out and Brandon's parents got home a couple of days ago. But Brandon never left my side. I was shocked to realize that I am still alive. They were going for a fatal shot. As you can see that didn't happen.
"Tay your up. Good we need to check your vitals. How did you sleep? Any more nightmares?" My doctor asked.
"I slept fine and yes I had nightmares. I will always have nightmares while my parents are out of jail. I've told the police this multiple times as well." I retorted.
"Ok. I just want you to know the police are on it." He reassured.
Brandon walked into the hospital room with McDonald's in hand. We have been seeing each other since the accident. So three weeks.
"You brought McDonald's breakfast!" I stated happily
"Somebodies happy to see me." Brandon said.
"Well yeah. You brought me McDonald's breakfast of course I am happy to see you." I said as the doctor was leaving the room.
I shifted in the bed and winced. My wounds are still healing since the shot was in a bad spot. I am slowly recovering. Just glad Travis had a bad shot. Oh and Travis is my father's real name. Carmina was my mom's. They will never be referenced as mom and dad ever again.
"Are you going to eat or just sit there in thought?" Brandon broke me from my thoughts.
"Oh sorry." I muttered "Are you in trouble for getting involved and the starter to the whole mess we are in? You never told me."
"My parents were actually proud that I tried to help you with your problem. Now they are our problem. Plus my parents said you could stay with us. She said she always wanted a daughter. So to her it's a win win situation." He laughed
"What that isn't funny that's sweet." I scolded
"It's funny, because she is my mom so I get to laugh at her sometimes." Brandon retorted
"Come here." I told him. He smirked and came closer. I whacked him in the back of the head. He looked at me with hurt.
"What was that for?" He asked me
"For mocking your mom." I scolded again
"Thank you Tay." I turned around and saw Brandon's mom in the doorway.
"Hey Brenda." I replied. We got acquainted when they first found out about me. She has been really nice to me.
"Hey Tay." She said
"What are you doing here mom?" Brandon asked whining.
"Can't I come and check on you two now and then?" Brenda asked with fake hurt.
"I think your fine here. You have been so nice to me through the whole hospital thing and now your letting me stay at your house. I don't know how to thank you." I told her with sincerity.
"Suck up." Brandon muttered
"What was that Brandon?" Brenda asked
"Nothing mom." I laughed at Brandon he glared at me. That just made me laugh even harder.
"Well I think I will come back later with lunch. How does that sound Tay?" Brenda asked. I looked at her happily.
"I would love that." I smiled. After Brandon's mom left I looked at him and glared.
"What is your problem?" I asked a little mad at him for acting so childish towards his own mother.
"I just think your sucking up so you have a place to stay." He said
