Epilogue

*Five years later

"Tay get that small butt over here!" Tina yelled.

"Hey! My butt isn't that small!" I called back.

"It is too. Now bring it over here!" Tina demanded.

I rolled my eyes and walked out of the kitchen. Tina and I have become closer and we were always together with Brit. Brandon and I are still together after this whole time we have been through so much. We have got my parents put in jail, high school, and college. We are just starting our careers. We aren't expecting to have children anytime soon. I am just too busy to think about it. We aren't even married yet.

"Are you coming?" Brit asked.

I shook off my thoughts and walked into the living room where everyone was watching the news. I looked at what was on. I noticed the city it was in, St. Cloud, Minnesota. I wonder what was going on there?

"What's going on?" I asked.

"They found him." Brit said.

"Who?" I asked a little confused.

"Rob." Tina said. I stiffened at the name.

I haven't heard anything from or about him in years. He wanted to break my parents out of jail. He ran out of the state and after years he came back. They have been looking for him for five years. They have got sniffs of him every once in awhile, but they never caught up to him. I can't believe he was finally gone.

"Are you sure?" I asked even though I believed it was true.

"Yep. I'm positive." Brit said.

I heard the front door opening and then closing. The familiar rustle of the jacket and squeeking of floor boards. A few seconds later a pair of warm arms wrapped around my waist. I looked up and saw the face that I love to wake up to. I smiled up at Brandon.

"How was your day?" I asked.

"As eventful as a Monday." He said.

"They found him." I said still looking up at him.

"Who?" He asked wondering like I was just seconds ago.

"Rob." Tina cut in.

"Really? After this long I figured they gave up on the search." He said.

"They got a tip." Brit explained.

"I can't believe after this long we can stop worrying about your parents breaking out." Brandon said.

I pulled out of his arms and pulled him to the couch. We sat there and watched the story on the news with my sister and best friend. We could finally not have to worry about the past and look forward to the future. I looked around at everyone and just smiled. I can't believe how much I've accomplished after just five years.

A couple hours later the girls left and Brandon and I popped in a movie in our room. I slept peacefully that night.

"Wake up. It's Saturday." I heard.

I rolled over and pulled the blanket up more. I heard a sigh and it felt like a weight was lifted off the bed. I rolled over. I was about to fall asleep when I got splashed with a cup of freezing water. I shot out of bed scared.

"What the heck Brandon?!" I screamed.

"You wouldn't get up." He said innocently.

"And why did you wake me up at 8 on a Saturday?" I asked glaring at him.

"It's date day." He said.

I smile smacked onto my face realizing it was our day out. I can"y believe I forgot about it. I feel kinda stupid for forgetting, but that is ok since I just woke up. I quickly got into the shower. Suddenly the water turned off. I knew who it was right away.

"Brandon you better turn the water back on right now or you will sleeping outside tonight!" I yelled.

The water turned back on as quickly as it was turned off. I smiled at myself triumphantly. I finished up and hopped out. I quickly got dressed so I could finish getting ready. I wanted to be able to leave as soon as possible. When we were all ready I looked myself over once more and made sure I looked good.

"Stop checking yourself out. That's my job." Brandon said putting his arm around my shoulders. A blush creeped onto my cheeks. I glared at him. He just laughed at me.

The day was a blast and went by way too fast. We had breakfast at our favorite little cafe in the city, went shopping for a few small things, got coffee and muffins at caribou, went to a movie, had lunch at Perkins, and went to a few tourist attractions by were we live. Finally, it was dinner time and we were making our way to the beach were we would have a romantic picnic on the sand.

When we got there the water looked beautiful. As we got closer to where we were going to sit I saw candles and a classic plaid blanket laid out with a bottle of champagne and tall champagne glasses. I smile looking at Brandon. Today we had so much fun just hanging out with each other. We finally made it to our spot. I sat down and he sat right across from me.

"Today has been a blast hanging out with such a special person." Brandon started. I smiled at him as he poured us each a glass of Champagne. I took it willingly.

"I would like to be able to be with such a wonderful person for the rest of my life. I would like to be able to call you mine forever. I want you to not just be my friend, but my partner." He kept going. I sat there looking at him with a smile on my face.

'So what I am saying is, Tay Peters will you marry me?" He asked me pulling out a ring. I put the glass down and looked him in the eyes to make sure this wasn't a joke. Sincerity was all I could see in his eyes.

"I would love to be called your wife." I said and flung myself into his arms.
