Chapter 12: Plan in action

They all listened to my plan. Part 1 is me and Tina switching identities for awhile. This will be a little harder then people would think since we just met recently. So that was really the only hard part.

"Are you ready for this Tay?" I asked Tina.

"As I'll ever be Tina." Tina said back.

We went to school like everybody and went to our classes. It went like a regular day. The only tricky part on me side was seeing Brandon pretend to like Tina. It killed me inside. Luckily they didn't kiss or I would've hurt him. Josh hit on me a couple of times, but that was easy to ignore.

The day was going by smoothly until we got back to Brandon's. Robs police cruiser was parked in the driveway. Brit went home to make this seem more realistic, but we where going to tell her everything when this was over. Tina and I acted like we where catching up still so then I wouldn't have to go to her house. I really didn't want to miss anything.

Tina walked in first with Brandon at her hip. I hated it still. I walked in after them.

"So let's get this straight Tay's parents are in jail, because she did something she wasn't supposed to. And she could go to jail? How does that work? She got them in jail didn't she ? What did she do that was wrong?" Brenda asked.

"She used a piece of device she shouldn't even have. They don't know where she got it. It's police equipment and only police give it out in bad cases. No one gave one to her that they know of." Rob said.

Anger pulsed through my veins. I bit it back so they didn't know we heard. I slammed the door.

"We're home!" Tina yelled.

"I'm here too!" I called.

We walked into the living room where Brenda and Rob were sitting. Concern coated Brenda's face like flour. Worry stitched its way in my mind. This has to work.

"What's wrong Brenda?" Tina asked concerned. She us such a good actress.

"Oh. Nothing you need to worry about right now. Right Rob." She said giving him a look that said don't say anything to upset us.

He nodded his head in agreement, but the look in his eyes said otherwise. I smiled politely at them both. Brenda smiled back. She had a look that said she has to tell us something. I turned to Tina.

"Can I have something to drink?" Asking Tina, because I know they aren't going to say anything while I'm standing there.

"Yeah. There's pop in the fridge." Tina says sweetly.

"Thank you. I'll be right back." I say and leave.

I walk into the kitchen and stand by the fridge. I open the door and make sounds like I'm looking around trying to find the drink. I grabbed one finally and made my way to the counter. I opened the can and listened to the conversation.

"So, I am guessing you heard?" Brenda asked.

"What are you talking about?" Tina asked a little scared. Sneaky little actress.

"When you walked in. Did you hear anything?" Brenda asked.

"I only heard muffled voices. Why?" She asked.

"Well,-" Brenda was cut off by Rob.

"You are under speculation of using equipment used by police only. When you had your parents taken away you used something only police officers have accessibility to." Rob said.

"What are you talking about? What equipment? You gave me that to help get my parents. I didn't take anything without permission." Tina defended.

"The tracker. Nobody gave it to you. I have no clue what your talking about." Rob exclaimed.

"You did. You gave me the tracker. You are the one who told me to use it when I needed." Tina exclaimed.

"I have no knowledge of such thing. Now will you please stop accusing me of such lies." Rob exclaimed trying to defend himself.

Anger boiled in me as I listened to the conversation. How can he just sit there and lie? What does he have to loose? I bit back every instinct to walk out there and yell at him. But that would mean blowing our cover. So I stood there and listened on. It was agonizing, but I stood there and took it in.

"see here's the thing Rob. You are lying, because you weren't supposed to give me that tracker. You went against what you were told and gave it to me anyways. But so you don't get caught you're blaming me for something I didn't do just so you won't loose your job. Now tell me. How accurate was I?" Tina said so smugly I could picture the smirk plastered to her face as she sadi every word.

"I..you..lies." Was all he could muster.

"So I take that as very accurate. Good chat." Tina said.

"You have no proof or evidence. Plus, who is going to believe you?" Rob asked.

"Well first of all I have Brenda as someone to say it's true and I recorded this whole conversation. So technically I have plenty of evidence." She explained.

That's exactly when I walked back into the living room. I looked at Rob and smiled at him sweetly.

"How does it feel to be duped by two teenage twin girls?" I asked sweetly.

He glared at me, then stormed off out of the house. I heard a car door slam shut and an engine start. I was still smiling. Now to just bring this to the attention of his fellow officers. This was way easier then it should be. I know he won't give in that easily, but he will not be denying this easily. Tomorrow we will go into the station with this. See what happens and go with that. This will be very fun seeming how this will end.

A couple hours later Brandon came home and Tina was at her home. We only had to switch places today, because she could put pieces together easier and she was quick on her feet. Her smug attitude got us help with getting the voice recording. We are so close, but it will take time for it all to be laid out better for people to actually notice what was going on.
