It wouldn't stop. It just wouldn't stop. It was driving them mad.

Kris turned to face your desk, where that wretched sound just wouldn't shut up. Their SOUL left behind in the bird cage, they limped their way over to the source of the noise. Your phone, it wouldn't quit. Endlessly ringing, endlessly begging for you to pick up, begging for freedom from the repetitive hell.

They tried to ignore it, they really did. But ever since the spam calls started, they couldn't think straight. Every moment it's wretched call filled the air, they felt deeply compelled to just shatter it. It was one thing that it was just constantly ringing, but they knew something else was behind it. They had hoped that after finishing their business that night, it'd finally stop. Yet still, it rang. In Kris' mind, something was after you, something wanted you, begged for you even.

Yet it'd be a cold day in hell before they let whatever it was reach you. Not you. Anything but you.

They snatched the forsaken phone and opened the door. Stumbling their way down the stairs, and to the bathroom. Where the hellish ringing would reside until morning.

It was a miracle that they hadn't stabbed the phone yet.

Toriel entered the bedroom of the her two sleeping children. A look of amused disappointment etched onto her face, holding the empty pan tin. Kris' knife haphazardly placed inside; they always had a habit of eating the whole dang pie when no one was looking. Seems they had a midnight snack.

Sensing the annoyance in the room, you slowly woke up, disheveled from the night before. With glazed eyes you stared at your mother, who was now standing over Kris' bed. Couldn't exactly tell what she had in her hands nor if Kris was even awake at this moment. You lazily propped yourself on your elbows, struggling slightly due to somehow entangling yourself in your blankets. Which really only happened during stressful nights, which also confused you since you couldn't recall anything that would have put you on edge.

With a preemptive cough, you caught your mother's attention. To which she swiftly redirected her attention to your direction, "Ah, I'm sorry [Y/n], I was just coming to wake Kris up. Also to confirm that Kris ate the pie last night." She gave a small apologetic bow.

You simple waved your hand dismissively, "Ah, no problem. I was just curious, plus I had to get up in awhile anyway." You removed yourself from the bed covers and swung your legs over the edge of the bed. The quick contact with the cold floor sent a chill through you.

"Oh? You did? Why so?"

"I agreed to help some of neighborhood kids with their school projects. Tutoring sessions, basically."

"Oh really? How wonderful! Those kids are sure to get an A+!"

Toriel chuckled softly with humor and pride. She always impressed by how willing you were to help everyone around you with their academics; even when you still had your own to deal with.

Your mother had gone back to trying to encourage Kris to finally get up. You even heard her jokingly mention locking the oven again. It'd be the 8th time if she were to do so.

This time around you got to take Kris to school. You had offered to just drive Toriel's car but they insisted the two of you walked. They were just desperate to tell you more about the 'Darkworld'.

Also they haven't been on a walk with you for weeks, so it was just nice to switch up the routine.

A sweet, cold breeze swept passed you as you made your way downtown, walking fast. Seeing faces pass.

The leaves crunching under your shoes gave off a true sense of home. Nostalgia filled the air that day.

You listened to Kris ramble about yesterday's endeavor. Talking about how they met Susie and how she almost bit their face off. How they met the fluffiest boy in existence, who also happened to be a prince of darkness; to which they then stated they met a second prince.
