*Cate's POV*

I wake up and at first, I feel a bit confused about having someone by my side but as I gain consciousness I realize that the one besides me is y/n.

Knowing she is here by my side makes me the happiest. I look at her peacefully sleeping. She's so pretty and young and self-aware and thoughtful and polite... I could keep going for hours and I've only known her for less than a week.

I still haven't figured out what but she has something that has me mesmerized. Usually when people wake up in the middle of the night they try to fall back asleep, but I just can't stop looking at her, she's got me in awe.

As I'm looking at her, flashbacks of what we've just done flash my mind, and I can't help it but smile. It was amazing, I don't think anyone has ever made me feel that good. And I don't think it's just about how good I felt but also about how comfortable and intimate I felt with her.

It wasn't mere lust, love was definitely there.

She suddenly wakes up and a soft smile appears on my face. She's trying to open her eyes and as she does so I kiss the tip of her nose which makes her giggle.

"Were you looking at me?" she says with a really cute sleepy voice "Well I woke up and your beauty cast a spell on me and I just couldn't stop looking at you" I wink at her.

She comes closer to me and hugs me tighter. I pull her head up by her chin so I can see her full face, and I pull her in into a passionate kiss that's full of love and admiration.

We pull apart and she hugs me again. I feel how we're both smiling "I never want this moment to end" I say as a wave of sadness hits me "Me too" she answers as she yawns.

"Go back to sleep babe" I say while kissing her forehead. She just looks at me and nods.

After a few seconds she falls full asleep but now hugging me tighter which I love. I've just realized that things are about to get tough and I don't want her to get hurt but neither  I want my family to get split up, at least I don't want to lose my kids or ruin my relationship with them. But I think I'll divorce Andrew anyway, don't get me wrong he's an amazing person and I still love him a lot, but not as a husband.

Right now all I want is to be with y/n and I'll do whatever it takes to be with her. I decide to stop thinking about all that and just enjoy the moment. I close my eyes and feel her close to me and a small smile appears on my face. I kiss her forehead and moments later I fall asleep.

*night passes*

I wake up and she's not by my side but her side of the bed is still warm so It mustn't be long since she got up.

I suddenly hear the toilet flush so I assume that might be her. She walks into the room and she's just wearing her panties, I smirk.

"Oh fuck you're awake" she says as she tries to cover herself  "C'mon y/n don't act as if I hadn't seen you already" she giggles and gets into the bed.

She stills a kiss from me and I lightly blush because she caught me by surprise. "Turns out that the tough Cate Blanchett blushes too..." she says while laughing. "Oh for fuck's sake shut up" I say as I playfully hit her.

We look into each other's eyes and we both burst out laughing. We hear a knock in the door and y/n starts to panic. "Shit shit shit" she mouths.

I tell her to relax and hide in the bathroom. She does as I tell her.

"Momma I'm hungry can you make breakfast" I hear Edith on the other side of the door and I immediately calm down. I kinda forgot that she was here.

"Of course honey I'll be there in a minute". I get up and put an old t-shirt. I tell
y/n that I'm gonna go prepare breakfast for the three of us and that I'll introduce her to Edith.

"Are you sure about that Cate? What will you tell her? What will be the reason I stayed?" " Calm down y/n she's a little kid she'll believe whatever we tell her" I give her a reassuring look and she nods letting me know she's less nervous.

"Ok so I'll tell her about you and then I'll call you downstairs so you two meet" I kiss her lightly on the lips and leave the room.

*y/n's POV*

"Fuck" I say to myself  while I wait for Cate to call me. I still haven't processed all that happened last night and now I'm meeting Edith this feels like a really long dream.

I know it might not mean anything but she's willing to introduce me to her daughter so maybe she does actually want to be with me. I still don't know what's gonna happen but I really hope we stay together.

I'm nervously walking around the room when I look at myself in the mirror and realize I'm naked. "God y/n you're a disaster" I look for my clothes but I just can find my pants and that's because my top is downstairs so I end up borrowing some of cate's clothes. I finally hear her call me to the kitchen, I take a deep breath and start walking downstairs.
