girls day pt.2

*Cate's POV*

We've finally gotten to Sarah and Edith. For some reason, they're laying on the floor while laughing. Y/n and I look at each other confused about what in hell they are doing.

"Girls, what are you doing?" I laugh. They look at me, then at each other and the one that ends up answering is Sarah. "Well, umm I was chasing Edith, and she started running around that tree, aaaand I had no better idea rather than to do the same thing she was doing...  So I ended up losing my balance and I fell. And she decided to throw herself on top of me and start to tickle me. And that's the summary of how we got into this situation."

"Ok, you two are the clumsiest people I've ever seen, get up and lets keep on with our walk" I say giggling.

They get up and we continue with our walk. Most of the time the four of us walk together but sometimes Edith starts running.

Y/n is being the nicest to Edith, and I think Edith already loves her. Seeing her being so nice to my kid makes me weak. They are the most important things in my life so I could never have someone in my life that doesn't respect them.

Edith looks at y/n daringly. "What's up you little thing" y/n says intrigued. "I.... dare you to a RACE!" Edith says as she starts running. Y/n looks back at me and smiles, I smile back at her, and after she's letting Edith have a head-start on the race she starts running after her.

Sarah and I are left behind and I can't help it but to have a big smirk on my face. I can't believe I've found someone as amazing as y/n. She's smart, she's kind, she's grateful for everything, she's stunning and well she's amazing in bed. This last remark gives me flashbacks and I blush a bit.

I'm so immersed in my thoughts that I don't realise that Sarah's actually looking at me while smirking "You're falling for her Cate, aren't you?" I look at her a bit shocked because I wasn't expecting her to be so direct.

"If I'm honest with you, I think I am but it's scary because I don't want anyone to get hurt"
"Cate I know it's scary, but I think I've never seen you so fond of someone in a really long time. Whenever you talk about her or are around her your eyes glow and even though you don't notice a big smile is always plastered on your face. Still, promise me please that you'll be careful and that you won't make any decisions without thinking about them twice. I don't want neither of you getting hurt."

Her moving words make a single teardrop run down my face and she wipes it. I really appreciate her support because I feel like y/n's and I's relationship won't be easily accepted.

"Thank you Sarah really I don't know what I would do without you" She puts her arm around the back of my neck and I do the same with her waist. (Imagine something like the Carol scene where they are walking down the stairs)

We walk in this position until we reach y/n and Edith. Y/n is carrying Edith and they're laughing. I look at them fondly hoping they don't ever notice us. They look really cute and happy in their own little world and I wouldn't like to be the one to interrupt that.

Suddenly y/n looks back and when she sees me she smiles and winks at me. That's when Edith notices that y/n is not paying attention to her anymore and looks back too to see what's going on. When she sees me she asks y/n to put her down and she runs to me.

"Momma!! I won the race and I got to tickle her because she lost!!" Before I say anything I briefly glance at y/n and she is looking at Edith with love in her eyes while listening to her. Her being so nice with kids makes me fall even harder for her.

"Edith I think you're forgetting something..." y/n says when I was about to reply to Edith. "Oh yeah, she told me a story about two princesses that fall in love. I want to have a girlfriend too mom!" I chuckle at what she says "Then good luck finding one!" y/n and Sarah laugh at my joke.

"Edith you're still forgetting the most important part" I look at y/n confused. "You're right! We picked some flowers for you mom!! And it was y/n's idea!!" she says as she hands me a bunch of really cute flowers.

"Was it really your idea y/n?" I say with an ear-to-ear smile. I look at her and she is shyly blushing. She's about to answer when Edith does it for her. "Yes, mom I've just told you. Did you not listen to me?" she says giggling.

"Thank you" I mouth to y/n while Edith keeps talking about how she wants a girlfriend like the princess from y/n's story.

"Hey, y/n do you have a girlfriend? Because well I know that auntie Sarah does and mom is with dad, so do you have anyone?" her question surprises the three of us. And makes me think of Andrew for the first time in the whole weekend.

"Well, there is someone quite special that has recently appeared in my life. We're not actually girlfriends but we might be one day." she answers while looking at Edith. "And I hope she knows how grateful I am to have her in my life" and while saying this last sentence she looks at me. "Wow, y/n she seems quite special you should ask her to be your girlfriend" Edith answers. "Oh I think I might do so"

She walks up to my side and smiles at me. And the worry that came over me when Andrew was mentioned it's now gone. Her words have made me feel like our relationship is gonna be worth the pain.

Y/n is by my side and I softly caress her hand. She makes sure that Edith isn't looking and she intertwined her fingers with mine. All I want to do right now is kiss her and tell her how much I like being around her, and how much joy she brings me and how much I love her.
