8. Driving (Annie x Mikasa) Trigger warning

The small fragments of white fluff fell to the earth, each flake swirling gracefully in the winter wind. The illuminated orb glistening in the sky helped bring these beautiful flecks to life, the pallet of the sky blending the beautiful winter scenery perfectly together. Despite the desolate trees, their long skeletons missing their gorgeous leaves, they still blended together perfectly. The road the trees surrounded was a small road, one lane on each side, that led towards a small town near the edge of the woods. The small, red Chevy Malibu calmly strolled down the road, the two passengers idly chatting about random topics. "Mikasa, what town are we visiting again?" "Shinganshima.. This was my old town as a kid, before transfering..." The blackette murmured, her colbat iris' trained on the road infront of her. "Ah, isn't that where Armin and Eren are from as well?" The blonde girl softly spoke, her shimmering cerulean iris' looking out the window at the large mountains that seem to engulf the town ahead in its looming form. "Yes, they are..." The girl muttered, taking one of her hands and lacing it with the blonde's. There was a calming silence that ensued the blackette's statement, the only noise was the occasional crunch from the tires colliding with debris on the road. The silence was short lived, with a car colliding with the side of the car. The vehicle flipped over multiple times, until finding its resting place in the ditch. "M-Mika-" The blonde weakly murmured, her eyes half lidded yet filled with fear. Her lover had a shard of glass lodged in her forehead, a small trickle of blood steadily flowing from the wound. The blonde's own body was in horrible condition, the dashboard crushing her legs. She had tears falling from her eyes, her arm weakly reaching up and trying so hard to reach her lover's. She heard sirens in the distance, allowing her eyelids to cover his iris'. She let the darkness overcome her, her smile never wavering when she felt her lover enclose their hands together.
