Dedicated to Larry_Lashton because Zayn left One Direction and I think she is really sad, because she really oves One Direction, so I hope this dedication makes her feel better.

It's been a whole three days since Luke's eaten a proper meal. Luke's never been one to starve himself. He feels that not eating is a more dangerous and noticeable to other people. But Julie has been following him around more and more. She's been giving him fuller meals, which only causes him to eat very small bites, and when everyone went to clear their plates, he'd say he was going to finish his dinner upstairs. He'd then shove the food in his garbage can, and wait until Julie came to take his dish.
Luke knew that if Julie and Nancy found out about this, he'd be dead. They'd send him away again, and that's the last thing Luke needed and wanted. If Julie found out, she'd be disappointed for sure, but then she'd do what she did last time. Julie would try to understand, and Luke hated the fake empathy. She had a perfect body, pretty face, beautiful brunette hair. Her green eyes were sparkling and Luke just hated how she'd say things like, 'We all have flaws, Luke.' Because when Luke looked at Julie, he didn't see a single thing wrong.
Nancy would be made that he wasn't making an effort to get better. That he was basically ruining himself, and if he didn't beat this disorder, this voice in his head that tells him he's nothing but a disgusting human being, then he was going to be sent away, and maybe he won't be allowed back. And maybe that's what he wanted.
Maybe Luke just didn't want to get better.
He's been going to therapy for almost a year now. He's been gaining the weight back and he's scared. Scared of not looking perfect. Scared of looking nothing but fat. Fat, ugly and pathetic. Luke hated all of this.
Which is why Luke asked if he could but his lunch that morning instead of getting his lunch made. At first, Julie gave him an odd look. But Luke's been practicing his fake smiles in his mirror, and pulled the most fake, yet sweet, smile he could pull.
"Are you sure you don't want me to make your lunch?" Julie asked, putting down the block of cheddar cheese she had just taken out of the fridge. "I was going to make you grilled cheese. You know how much you love grilled cheese."
Luke bit his bottom lip nervously, shaking his head. "No, um, Michael, Ashton, Matt and I were going to drive down to this pizza place Michael goes to. Might even invite that new boy, Calum." It wasn't a complete lie. They were going to a pizza place, and they were planning on inviting Calum. It's just Luke wasn't planning on eating any pizza.
When Julie didn't move from her spot, Luke jutted out his lip, and fluttered his eyelashes rapidly. Julie's lips broke into a smile, as she went to get her wallet. He sighed with relief, thanking her repeatedly when she gave him twenty dollars.
Julie kissed Luke's forehead when he got a text from Michael, who was waiting to walk with him outside. The (now) red haired boy was grounded for 'sassing' his mother and his car was taken away. Luke quickly grabbed his jacket, rushing out the front door.
He greeted Michael with a hearty 'hello', and the two boys walked together. They discussed random topics, Luke gushing over the new Sleeping With Sirens album, Michael agreeing that it was good.
"Did you hear about that new kid, Calum?" He asked, pressing the 'go' button for the walkway.
Luke nodded, stuffing his hands inside his jacket pockets. "Yeah, he's in my gym class. He's really nice."
"I heard he had two panic attacks in one day."
"So?"
Michael glanced up at Luke whose eyebrows were furred with confusion. He didn't get the big deal, so Calum panicked a little. It's clear he's had a rough past, possibly a rough present, and when Joseph and those other boys were making fun of him, it made Luke angry, and he knew had to stop it. Luke, surpassingly, didn't pity the boy, but empathized with him. He understood what it's like to be alone, especially in the class and at his old school. So, helping Calum relax was easy.
