"We will leave you guys to talk," Martha announced as she went up the stairs with Alexis in front of her.

Kate waited for them to get up there and started talking, "What are you doing here?"

"Katie, I want to make this right. I cant do this anymore. I've hid long enough and I don't want you to hate me. I haven't even slept since I got here because I kept thinking to myself that I shouldn't of even came back and I should've just let you think I was dead for the rest of your life. But I chose to come back. After I heard about you being shot, I left from work early and went home to cry because I knew it was all my fault. Everything was my fault," Johanna paused to take a breath. "After Montgomery died, I didn't know what to do. He helped me through this, helped me by keeping me informed on how you were doing. And then he died and I didn't know what to do. He had already told me who had tried to kill me so when I heard that he was finally in jail, all the weight on my shoulders was gone."

Kate had tears streaming down her face and finally spoke, "You made me get shot. How am I supposed to ever forgive you for that? You almost made us," she pointed to Rick, "get blown to pieces. Oh and Montgomery! He was my best friend. He helped me get through everything, through your case and everything else in life! Even Castle! He helped me not shoot him because he was so god damn annoying and digging into your case without asking me," she looked back at him and smiled slightly. She let out a breath and turned back to her, her voice calmer, "I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't know if I can ever forgive you."

"I know. I am so sorry, I didn't mean for any of this to happen. And Richard, I'm so sorry what I put Katie through. With her stubbornness, I'm surprised to know that you stayed with her as long as people say you have," she sighed. "I don't expect you to ever forgive me, but I want to at least be there for you, for the rest of your life. I want it to be back how it was before that day. If you don't want any of that, I'm fine with that. I just want you to know that I'm staying with your dad now, so if you ever need me, just come on over. Just like old times," she smiled at them and got up from her chair, walking over to the door.

She was half way there when Kate spoke, "Wait," Johanna stopped and turned around. "I want it. I want you to be here again. I've missed you so much and I want it to be back like old times."

"Good, I'm glad. I've missed you so much too and not a day went by on how I thought you were living your life," Johanna told her. They stood there for a moment before they connected in a hug. Both of them tightly wrapped their arms around each other and tears began to fall.

"This doesn't mean I forgive you though," Kate drew back to look at her.

"I know and I don't care, I'm just glad you didn't push me away," Johanna smiled and they hugged again.

"Castle, come here," Kate said, after awhile, and held out an arm for him. He walked towards them with a smile on his face and joined their hug.

"Alright," Johanna spoke after awhile and broke free from their group hug, "I should get going, even though I don't want to," she frowned, "But your father will get worried, can we maybe go out for lunch tomorrow?"

"Uh, yeah, yeah, Espo and Ryan are working the case so I'm free," Kate told her, wiping the last of her tears away.

"Good, good, Richard, would you like to come with? You are more than welcome," Johanna turned to Castle.

"Oh no, no, you two can go have fun. I have a meeting with Black Pawn tomorrow anyways," He told her.

"Alright, maybe another time we can all get together," Johanna said as she made her way over to the door. "Sorry I can't stay long."

"No, it's fine. We can talk tomorrow over lunch," Kate smiled.

"Okay, well see you tomorrow. Sleep well, I love you Katie," Johanna was in the hall now.

"I will, good night. I love you too, Mom." she smiled as she heard 'Mom' come out of her mouth since she's been in New York. Johanna hadn't heard that word since the day she got killed.

"Good night, Ms. Beckett," Castle piped in.

"It's Johanna to you, Richard. Good night and tell Alexis and Martha, thank you," Johanna said before she disappeared down the hall.

A/N: Good thing this is fanfiction because Kate Beckett would never be that forgiving. I think she would've pushed Castle away and start drinking. That's just me though.

How do you think Beckett would've reacted to all of this?
