The day of my 18th birthday has finally come. I woke up with my Mother greeting me and singing a birthday song. We didn't really do anything that much besides cooking, chatting, eating, and playing games but it was still a fun birthday. Mother surprised me with a beautiful dress made by the shop that Lucius's father owns. I told her that she should take it back since it must've been so expensive, but Mother insisted.
That night I heard knocking on my bedroom door, I opened it to see Lucius. I asked what he was doing here late at night and he replied, "Your mother came by to the shop yesterday, she asked if you wanted anything, but Audelia and I didn't know what you wanted so we just told her that a dress would be nice... and your mother was the one who invited me in." I let him in, as I opened the door, and had a conversation. He said that Audelia and him were going to surprise me by coming here, but she had some dinner to attend so she couldn't come by.
"But I have something to give you," he pulled out a box in his pocket and gave it to me, "Happy 18th birthday Sylvie."
I opened the little box and it was the ribbon he let me wear yesterday. I asked him why. He said, "I just thought you looked good with it, so I gave it to you as a friendly gift."
"Are you sure I can have this?" I asked. "Yes it's yours now, it's a friendly gift." I accepted his gift and placed it on a shelf.
"Can I ask you something?" Lucius asked.
"Sure, What is it?" I replied.
"Is there anyone you like... you know, that way? Or have you ever liked anyone romantically?"
