"I had some, but when Father passed away, Mother and I moved here. I always thought that I could never make any friends since everyone had a Father to count on, and I never had one."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Lucius replied. "No, it's okay," with a smile I continued, "I was really happy when I got to talk to you Lucius, and when you introduced me to Audelia, I was happy I made another friend."

"Well, not everyone is perfect. We all have something we yearn for, but just because you grew up in this town with no Father, doesn't mean you are unfit in this world," he said.

My eyes lit up as he said that. He continued, "Sometimes being different is good. It's what makes us unique, and that doesn't mean you can't find someone who would appreciate your flaws. I appreciate you for who you are, Sylvie, and you shouldn't hide yourself anymore."

I couldn't help but cry as he said that. I felt, as if for the first time, accepted for who I am and with what I don't have. I'm really happy I met Lucius, I feel safe and secure when I'm around him.

He hugged me until I fell asleep in his arms. I couldn't remember what happened then but I woke up and was greeted by Audelia, with a smile on her face. We ate breakfast and packed our stuff to head home. I wish we could stay one more night, but Mother must've been worried, so I must go home.

I arrived home with Mother greeting me with her arms around me. "So? How was your day?" Mother asked. "It was good, I had a fun time with Lucius and Audelia," I replied.

"Is that all? I thought Lucius would ask you out," Mother answers.

"Mother, not everything is about marriage." I said.

"But you're almost eighteen, you have to find a boy to marry one day," said Mother.

I walked to my room and thought about our conversation last night. Somehow I feel butterflies in my stomach every single time I think about him.
