(A/N: Sorry for a short chapter. :( I promise next one will be longer!)

-Lexi's POV-

"The fire looks like it was just lit, so Mitchell should be near." I explained.

"I'm guessing he went over there." Jordan pointed to a trail of burning grass that zigzagged in and out of the trees. We followed, trying not to step in it and catch on fire.

Suddenly, the trail of fire disappeared. Jordan and I looked at each other with wide eyes.

"You don't think-"

"Oh, hey guys!" Mitchell called from behind.

We both turned around and let out a sigh, knowing now that Mitchell was okay.

"Do you have Sean or Liam?" Mitchell asked, as I watched Graser come up from behind Mitchell.

"Nope. Just us." I answered. "Okay, if we're going to look for them, can we NOT split up?" I said, before anyone could respond.

"That's what I said!" Mitchell exclaimed.

"You wanna use the buddy system?" I joked.

"Hey, what if we split up-"

"No, that's what's been getting us separated in the first place, Graser!" Mitchell objected, throwing his hands up in frustration.

"Can you hear me out, first?!" Graser asked.

We nodded.

"Okay, so this time, if we split up and get lost, we can all regroup."

"But where?" I asked.

"Wherever Mitchell is."

"What? Why me?" Mitchell questioned.

"You can set something on fire. We'll see it and come." Graser explained, making it seem simple, and it was.

"Oh." Mitchell muttered. "That's a good idea." He complimented.

"Thanks."

"It's kind of like a flare, right?" Jordan suggested.

"Yeah, I guess." Graser shrugged. "So, should we split up now?"

I nodded, pointing in a random direction. "I'll go that way."

"That's West." Graser added.

"Yeah, whatever. I'm good with calling it 'that way'." I said, making air quotes.

"I'll take North." Mitchell volunteered.

"South." Jordan said, raising his hand.

"Okay, so that leaves me with East."  Graser said awkwardly.

"Kay, I'm going to go now. So bye!" I waved, running off in the direction known as 'west' or 'that way'.

"Bye." I heard the others say behind me.
