-Mitchell's POV-
"So... What's your name?" I said to the guy in the black hoodie.
"Uhh.. It's Graser." He said awkwardly.
"Graser? Well that's not a name you hear everyday." I muttered to myself.
"My name is Mitchell, if you were wondering, but you can just call me Mitch." I added, even though I felt like no one really cared.
"My name is Lexi." The girl in the blue hoodie said, smiling.
"I'm Liam..." The guy in the red lumberjack shirt said.
We waited for the last two people tell us their names, but they just stayed silent.
"What's your name?" I said to the guy wearing a white hoodie.
"Uhh..." He said, having a look on his face like he was thinking very hard.
"It's Sean." He finally said.
The only one whose name we didn't know was the guy in the green and purple sweater. I noticed that he was trailing behind us, like he didn't really want to be seen. I also noticed that he had his hands in his pockets.
"Soo... What's your name?" I said, cheerfully, walking up to him.
"... I- Um.. it's.. Uhh.." He started to say, but couldn't 'get the words out'.
"Your name is 'Its Uhh'? What kind of name is that?!" I joked, trying to make him feel a little bit more comfortable. I could already tell that he was shy.
Instead, he ducked his head and walked around me.
"Well, that joke usually works..." I thought, feeling like I failed.
"Hey, there it is!" I heard someone say, but then I realized it was Liam.
We all walked up to the large clearing and immediately, a bunch of zombies came out of the forest. Some of them had pieces of gold and chain armor on.
"Oh sh**...!" Graser muttered as the zombies circled us.
"We have no weapons! How the he** does he expect us to fight a mob of zombies without weapons?!" Liam asked, kicking a punching the zombies, trying not to get bit.
"I think we're supposed to use our 'powers' but we DON'T HOW WE ARE SUPPOSED TO EVEN USE THEM." Lexi yelled, probably hoping that the guy would show up and give us some tips.
In the corner of my eye, I saw something orange on a branch on one of the trees that kinda looked like it was slowly disintegrating the whole tree.
I quickly turned around and saw it wasn't a something, IT WAS FIRE.
5 seconds later, after I noticed it, my hands felt like they were burning, but they were perfectly fine. To be honest, it didn't really hurt.
"Ok, let's just SHAKE IT OFF, SHAKE IT OFF!" I thought, singing to myself.
*Slap*
That was the sound of someone mentally slapping himself.
"NO TIME TO SING TAYLOR SWIFT, MITCHELL!" I thought, getting a grip on myself.
"Wait, why did my hands feel like they were on fire, right after I saw the fire?" I thought, now starting to figure out what my power could probably be.
I felt something cold touch me, interrupting my thoughts.
AND THEN I REALIZED IT WAS A ZOMBIE.
I pushed it away, somehow, sending it flying 3 blocks away, on fire.
"Fire.. Fire... Fire..! Fire!! That's my power!" I thought.
"STOP IT!" I heard Lexi yell to the 5 zombies she was fighting. One of them was SO CLOSE to biting her, but she ducked.
I ran over to her and smacked 3 of the zombies' faces, which caused them catch on fire.
She stopped fighting the zombies for about 5 seconds and looked at me with a confused look. Then she went back to fighting the zombies.
I went around helping everyone kill the zombies. Well, except for Sean. Why? BECAUSE HE WAS KILLING 5 ZOMBIES ABOUT EVERY 8 SECONDS. He didn't look like he needed any help.
*5 Minutes Later*
Liam pushed the last zombie into the sunlight, which was peaking through the trees, it went up in flames and eventually died.
"Ok... I have 2 questions." Graser started, brushing off his pants, which were covered in green stains from the zombie attack.
"One,"
"HOW DID YOU SET THE ZOMBIES ON FIRE?!" Graser said loudly, pointing at me.
I shrugged. "It's probably my power..."
"Well, when are we going to get 'powers'?" Liam asked, crossing his arms.
"Look, I don't know. All I know is that I felt my hands burning, and the next thing I know, I'm setting zombies on fire with every attack." I said putting my hands up like I was surrendering.
"The other question is, how come you could fight like 5 zombies at a time?" Graser said, turning around and pointing at Sean.
"Um.. It's a long story... But the short version is, my parents, siblings, and I were kidnapped and were going to get killed. My Dad found a way for me to get out and he knew that if I didn't get out, I would die. So I snuck out and survived. He told me to run North of the forest and there would be a cabin waiting for me to live in for the rest of my life. There, I was going to train forever until the murderers came back for me, because they will eventually find me... So yea.. All the training made me able to do that." He explained, scratching his head, awkwardly.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry for you!" Lexi said, almost about to cry.
"This is why I didn't want to have girls with us..." I heard Liam mutter. "So dramatic..."
"What makes you think I'm not good enough?" She said putting her hands on her hips, obviously hearing what Liam said.
"Uhh.." Liam said, obviously regretting what he said earlier.
Lexi looked around like she was looking for something that she could use to prove she was good enough.
"I'll prove it later..." She said, confidently.
"Wait, where's the quiet guy?" Graser asked, looking around.
"I.. I.. I'm over here.." I heard him say.
Everyone looked around.
He was no where to be seen.
(ABOUT THIS CHAPTER: Sorry if there are any typos or misspellings. I don't have time to read it over! Also: Straub is just being friendly to Jordan, so don't get any weird ideas that they will have a bro-mance.)
