Chapter 2: Long Way To Go

(Kaede's POV)

"Ah, Kokichi! Not so fast! No- please stop dragging me! You're going the wrong way!! I-! I swear to fucking Atua-!"

Thump

I fell on the ground in a splat, groaning while Kokichi is trying to hold in a laugh- and failing.

"Pfft- nishishi! You may be the clumsiness person I've ever met!"

"Hey! You were the one pulling me!"

":0 I was not!"

"Mhm, say that again without smiling."

This time I was the one giggling like a child while Kokichi struggles to speak. We ended up both laughing really hard for a good minute. I never thought I would have this much fun around him, but then again, I only knew Ouma for a few days.

"Okay, we should probably go explore, it's a pretty big school!" I finally tell him.
"Yeah Kayayday, stop wasting time hugging the floor and let's go!"
"Oh, you're gonna regret saying that later!"

I didn't know how, but we are now playing the most childish game of tag in the middle of the school. Until-

Crash

Fuck. I just ran into Shuichi, and my head now hurts like hell, well, more than it did before. We collapsed onto the library floor. Wow, I've fallen three times in 30 minutes, maybe I am clumsy..

"Woah! I'm so sorry, haha!" I laugh, trying to seem like I didn't know who he was.

"Ah! No, I'm sorry, it was my fault." Shuichi replied

"Please, it was Kayayday's fault, you should really start looking where you're going, it does wonders!!" Kokichi cut in jokingly, I think.

"So your name is.. Kayayday?" Dammit Ouma.

"Er, no, he just calls me that. It's pronounced Kaede. Kaede Akamatsu, the Ultimate Pianist!"

"Oh! Hello, Kaede. I'm Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Detective."

"Nice to meet you, Shuichi!" It hurts to say, but I can't tell anyone, they'd never believe me. I stood up and offered him a hand, which he took and got up as well.

"So, wanna walk away and pretend we never fell on each other?"

"Absolutely, aha. See you, Kaede!"

"Bye!"

Thank Atua that was over. It didn't seem like it, but that was so awkward for me! I notice Kokichi hasn't moved from the library, so I decide to get payback and start dragging him across the school.

"Kayayday! What are you- stop this right now! You do not want to make a supreme leader of evil angry! But, being my stalker, you must've already had known that, huh? Where are you taking me!?!?" I ended up dragging him all around the school, re-introducing myself to everyone while Kokichi whined behind me. Then, a very similar and dreadful sound played;

Ding dong, Bing bong!

"Hm? What was that?" Angie perked, happy as always. Is it really a coincidence that it plays just as I finish introducing myself to everyone?

(I don't know how it actually goes, haha)
"Bzzzt... bzzt Mic check, mic check, 1, 2, 3! Can everyone hear me? Good! Please come to the gym on the ground floor. Don't keep me waiting~~"

"Well Kayayday, since you seem to know where everything is, take me to the gym!!" He jumped on my back and waved his hands around like a child. How the actual hell did he jump that high!?

"Ow- Kokichi! You little-"

"Nyahahaha!! Well then, I wouldn't want to keep the mysterious figure waiting now!"

I sighed and gave Ouma a piggy back ride to the gym, Angie was right, Monokuma is really impatient, so impatient that- and then it occured to me-
The motive..
How the fuck will I save everyone from the motive? And the tunnel, I need Gonta to discover the manhole again. Thoughts like this raced through my mind until I got to the gym.

"Hey, Kagaede! Were you even listening!?"

"Hm? Oh sorry, I spaced out, what were you talking about?" Wait, did he just call me Kagaede!?!?

"My 2973rd member of DICE! She's the real reason we got to take over that government. Oh, I love all of them though! And- hey- isn't this the gym??"

"Yep! You wanna get off now?" He's suprisingly light, but it's still a bunch of weight on my shoulders and neck.

"Fiiiiiiiiiiiine~, wee!!" He stood on me and jumped off!

"Ow! What the- Ouma I swear-"

"C'mon, we need to get inside, go, go, go!!!" He swung the doors open and we both went inside, me still really damn hurt.

"Finally! Everyone's here so we can start! Okay, I'm Monokuma, your headmaster, and-" I spaced out one more time. I've heard it before, I don't need to hear it again. I hear Shuichi speak first after the the explanation.

"So, we're trapped in a school? And.. we have to... kill each other?"

"Yep anddd yep!"

"Hey.. Kaede.." Kokichi looked at me with a straight face, whispering so this is private. No nicknames this time, that's weird.
"Can we talk? Alone?"

"Um, yeah, of course, Kokichi. Where?"

"Just- come with me"

"Okay.."
I was silently pulled out of the gym, into the storage room.
