Chapter 16: Time Flies

(Kaede's POV)

(THE ELABORATE CHAPTER I SPENT MONTHS ON GOT DELETED!!! I'M PISSED. Sorry, this means I made y'all wait a long time for the same trial in the game :/ I'll do better next time promise).

We rode the elevator in silence, my shaking hand holding Kokichi's like my life depended on it.

"I think you're breaking my fingers." He whispered, looking up at me. I quickly removed my hand from his and looked away from him.

"Sorry, just a little nervous.." I whispered back.

"Hey! It's okay," he took my hand again and held it to my chest, "I was just joking, you know? You can hold my hand for as long as you need to, kay?" I smiled at him as he elevator came to a stop, and we separated to go to our positions.

(You know how this goes, time skip)

Shuichi: "That's why the only person who could've done this was.. you! Kirumi Tojo, the Ultimate Maid!"

Kirumi: "..."

Korekiyo: "Kekeke.. what a sudden change of events, humanity truly is beautiful! I must wonder, why would you murder Hoshi-kun in the first place?"

Kaede: "The motive videos, right? What was in your motive video!?"

Suddenly, the flat screens on the walls all turned on, and loud music came from the speakers.

"Welcome to Kirumi Tojo's motive video! Who's the most important person in your life?"

Kokichi: "Woah! My Mum's the president of Japan!"

Kirumi: "I didn't even remember until I watched my motive video."

Tenko: "Well then run Kirumi! You have to protect your country!!"

Himiko: "Nyeh, you can run, Kirumi!"

Kirumi: "What?"

Kokichi: "Go Spider Mum, you can do it! I believe in you!!"

Kaede: "Run Kirumi, run!!"

Kirumi: "Ah- if that is your request. But I have an announcementto make before I go."

Angie: "Oh? Is this your confession of looove?? Nyahaha! Your feelings will be reciprocated because Atua is watching over you!"

Kirumi: "I overheard an interesting conversation a few minutes after the body discovery announcement."

Kaede: "Kirumi? Please don't tell me you heard..."

Shuichi: "You know what she's talking about?"

Maki: "... Tojo-san.."

Kirumi: "I believe that Harukawa-San may be an assassin, based on the conversation. Other than my word, I have no proof of my claim, you'll have to discuss it with Harukawa-san, Ouma-kun and Akamatsu-san, as they were all in the conversation."

Shuichi: "Maki? Is this true?"

Maki: "... I'm sorry for lying. It's true." I wonder if this would've been revealed differently the first time.

Korekiyo: "Ouma, Akamastu, why wouldn't you tell us something like this?

Kokichi: "Because we pinky swore!! Can't break a pinky swear!" He grinned.

Maki: "It wasn't a pinky swear."

Kokichi: "Fineee it was a promise. But you can't be angry at us! You wouldn't want your bestie-"

Maki: "We are definitely not 'besties'"

Kaede: "Don't be mad at us! You wouldn't like it if I told everyone your biggest secrets!"

Kiibo: "This is different! You haven't killed anyone in your past!"

Kaede: "Uh- I- O-of course I haven't!! But.. it's- it's not the same thing!"

Kiibo: "That's exactly what I said. Are you feeling alright, Akamastu?"

Miu: "Yeah, have you been taking pills? Can I have some?"

Kokichi: "Hey, hey, hey! Don't you dare talk about my Boo like that!!"

Himiko: "That's kinda cute" she smiled. I, on the other hand, was practically a tomato.

Kaede: "W-we're getting off topic.."

Kirumi: "I did not mean to cause a fight. Please excuse my actio-"

Maki: "Did we not tell you to run? I don't necessarily like you right now, but I don't want to see you die, either."

Kirumi: "Right. Goodbye, everyone."

She sprinted faster than I've ever seen anyone do before, new hallways opened as she kept running towards what we thought would be the end of her killing game, and the continuation of her career.

We were wrong.

Her path was blocked by Monokumas. When she backed away, more appeared behind her. A spiky vine came down and a blue sky was at the end of it. She climbed, causing her hands and feet to bleed, but she didn't give up. Giant razors came at her and cut up more and more of her body, but her determination seemed infinite. Eventually, she made it to the top, some of my classmates, including Kokichi, were cheering her on, watching her climb to the top of the vine. She went to touch the outside world, but the vine broke... and she fell rapidly to the bottom...

THUMP

...oh my god...

"Ah!" Tsumugi was jump scared by Kirumi's body smashing against the ground.

I turn to Kokichi and wasn't surprised to see him sobbing harder than the rest of us. I pulled him into a hug and he hugged me back, crying into my chest while I rubbed his back.

"She- she was a like a m-mother to me.."

"Hey, it's okay.." I cries softly, my head against his soft hair, "It's all going to be okay."

"How can it be okay!? We're going to die and you already died and everyone else is going to die and our own friends are going to keep picking us off and then they'll get executed and eventually... eventually-"

"Hey, you're right, it might not be okay right now, but it will, with time.."

"... I know you're right. But I'm going to be sad now."

"That's alright. Be sad for as long as you need to."

"Thanks, Kaykay." He looked up at me, a hint of a smile on his face.

"Let's get you back to your room."

"Mhm"

We get back to our dorms after an elevator ride that felt so long I could see the wrinkles on everyone's faces. We barely talked, with only the murmurs of various peoples 'goodnight'. I kissed Kokichi's forehead and we went to our separate rooms.

I opened the door to my room and almost jumped right out of it, a blue haired figure sat straight on my bed.

"Aah! Tsumugi!! You scared me! What are you- no, how did you get in here!?"

"Your door was unlocked. I know, you were probably expecting something much cooler, but-"

"Yeah, you're plain, we all know, just get to the point!"

"Um.. actually, nevermind, goodnight!" She pushed through me and made a beeline for her door, slamming it behind her.

"Alllrighty.." I sunk into my bed, cried for a bit, but eventually fell asleep.

I AM SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG! And it wasn't even that long either.. I know this was kinda rushed and it took months but as I said at the start, I worked on a really elaborate chapter that got deleted, and I kind of lost motivation, but I picked it up again and I hope this was good enough ;-;
