Jalen POV

"Laylahh, Jalen," Paris yelled from upstairs.

"Whhaaattttt," Laylah yelled back, getting no response. "She be acting like my mom," Laylah joked. We both started making our way upstairs and heard giggling from the room.

"Hehe," I mimicked the noises. Laylah started to laugh and slowly fell to the ground. She finally stopped laughing so I lifted her up while singing.

All this jewelry ain't no use when it's this dark

It's my favorite part, we see the lights, they got so far," I sang Slide by Calvin Harris. Laylah and Devonta loved this song.

"Aww so precious now get in here," Paris laughed.

"So what do you want to tell me," Matisse asked. Paris looked at us and winked. Why was this girl winking? I made a confused face at Laylah who made the same one back at me.

"These two are together," Paris exclaimed.

"Finally, congrats," Matisse said, dapping me up and hugging Laylah.

"Thanks, and good night it's getting late." I said leaving the room.

"You right it's getting late. So you are staying the night," Laylah demanded.

"Oh,"I said. Laylah smacked the back of my head dragging me to her room. "Ow. Now see you gon stop doing that if we together now."

"Shut up," Laylah replied, hugging me.

"What you wanna do tomorrow," I asked.

"What's the date tomorrow?"

"It's the 20th."

"Well school doesn't start till the first, so I'm down for anything," she responded.

"Okay, we can go to an escape room with Paris and Matisse," I suggested. Escape rooms were fun if you used your brain.

"Aight, I'm smartish so it shouldn't be too bad. Paris sucks at these types of things, she's only good at arcade games and laser tag. But ima beast," Laylah responded, making her voice deep for the last part. I sat on the bed laughing and staring out her giant window. The view of the city was beautiful from up here. Even though it was 20 stories high, it was pretty high. Each floor has a higher ceiling than any other normal apartment. That's how you know they rich rich.

"Dude you got a text," Laylah told me interrupting my stare.

"I'll look at it later, if it were important they would have called me," I responded looking back outside. Laylah was so perfect, her smile was awesome. Whenever she would laugh she didn't care what it sounded like. She had the laugh that made other people laugh, she is so strong and athletic. She played highschool basketball but she still got it. She is good at football too, she is my number 1 wide receiver. No girl has ever got me feeling this way.

"Go brush and change," Laylah instructed as Matisse came to steal a pillow from the closet in Laylah's room.

"Good night," we replied to Matisse as he headed out with a big purple pillow. He grabbed it to support his college which was doo doo.

"Grab my penn state pillow and my eagle's pillow," Laylah instructed again.

"Fine," I grabbed both, throwing one at her to catch and one to whack her with. I guess she knew better cause she ducked the second she saw the pillow go up.

"I hate you," she yelled as I whacked her. I wasn't gonna let her brain stop me from hitting her with the Penn State pillow.

"You sure bout that," I asked, standing up and looking down at her on her bed.
