Laylah POV

"Ohhh, so you brought me to the outlets," I said matter of factly.

"Yup," Jalen responded, handing me his credit card.

"What's this for? I got my purse see," I put it in his face.

"Girl, go buy a light pink dress. Make sure it matches the shade I sent you," he instructed. So this is what's going on, Paris went shopping with Matisse and I'm out with Jalen.

"Aight, come with me," I told him. I don't like going shopping alone. I feel lonely like ain't nobody got time for that.

"Nah surprise me, I'll be in Soul Culture or Nike buying stuff."

"Don't you need money?"

"Nope, I got two cards," Jalen giggled.

"Bro what was that laugh," I asked, laughing.

"Shut the f*ck, I mean please don't talk," Jalen responded.

"I'm ubering home later, loser," I joked.

"You ain't going nowhere," he responded, grabbing my hand.

"Dude let go, someone is gonna see."

"Oh my bad," he said, quickly letting go.

"Aight, now ima go shop and you do what you gotta do. I better not find you sleeping," I told him. Being with him practically 24/7 has shown me this man takes wayyyyy too many naps for his own good.

I made my way to this dress shop, it had some really nice dresses. They were all fancy, I think it's perfect for the occasion. All the dresses were sorted by color so I went straight to pink, why waste time?

"Yo what's good you need help?" A deep voice asked from behind.

"No I'm good, thank you for asking," I responded. He was being polite, I guess. He was a bit taller than Jalen who was 6'1 and also had the same skin complexion. But his beard was a bit longer and he had a fro. But did I like him? F*CK NO!

I continued looking for dresses as he walked around grabbing things from shelves and putting them back down on other shelves.

"Are you sure you don't need help? You've been looking there for a bit?" He asked again.

"I'm looking for this shade of light pink."

"Aight, my name is Jamal and I will be helping you," he introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you, I am Laylah."

"So what type of dress you looking for," he asked.

"Formal but kind of fancy," I told him.

He pulled out a light pink dress that was perfect. Jalen would definitely love it, me on the other hand I would choose it over any boy. I don't even like dresses to be honest. But no one needs to know that.

"This is perfect," I said, with a bright smile.

"Just like you," Jamal said.

"Thank you?"

"No problem," he responded while laughing.

"Hey Jalen," I said, picking up his phone call. Perfect timing.

"What shoe size are you," he asked.

"8.5," I told him.

"Aight, you almost done?"

"Yep, bout to get the stuff rung up. Then I'll meet you outside."

"Bet see you babe," he responded and hung up the phone.
