You squint your eyes, your feet subconsciously leading you onward. You take out your phone and turn on its flashlight. You see color.. Purple, magenta, white.. Is that a hand? You grow pale and your heart starts to race. Holy crap.. That's a person! You break into a sprint, running up to the pile of crooked metal, tripping over some strange green wires that fluoresced dimly in the dark. You stared down at the large mass, breathing heavily. You looked down at the white hand and something about it triggered a sense of familiarity in you. Your eyes followed up the arm attached to the hand, leading to a armored body with huge wings stretching out from behind it. You flashlight had not yet hit the face of this mangled thing. It looks like an angel.. I twisted, macabre sort of angel.. You think to yourself, shivering with anticipation as you slowly raise the light to the face of the "angel"...
"Oh my god.." You hand raises to cover your mouth as you choke out the words.
It was a familiar face. Long pointed nose, pale white face, darkened glasses. Spamton. Lifeless. Dead, as far as you knew. He was here, alone, in the dark. Your friend. Your angel. You fell to your knees and placed your hands on his chest. He was cold. You shook him and cried out his name, panic setting it. Your throat felt like it was closing up. Why was he here? Why was he so.. Big? Where was your short little man? Where were his rosy cheeks? Where was the life? It was as if he had an entirely new body, but it was beaten and scuffed, like he'd been in a fight. The green glowing wires were strewn about him. You noticed all of them had been cut. You felt like all of your energy had been sapped away from you as you crawled feebly up to his face, holding it in your hands. It was darkened, colorless, and had a blank, unreadable expression. You wanted to scream, but all you could do was sob. You lay there crying for a few moments before trying to compose yourself before trying to figure out what to do. There has to be something left! Something I can do. What's wrong with him?
You tried to drag him back towards the exit, but he was incredibly heavy. You took one of the wires and it sparked, causing you to jump and throw it back to the ground. Power. I need power. You looked at your phone and squeezed it slightly with the hand you held it in. Sorry little guy. You bashed your phone's screen on the train tracks then grabbed one of the wires, stabbing the cut end into the exposed part of your cell. It sparked brighter and you closed your eyes, scooting back slightly. Now the light was gone. The soft glow of the wires remained. Not a sound besides your own breathing and your heartbeat pounding in your ears. You whimpered and crawled through the dark until you found him again before resting your head on his chest. You wanted to stay in the darkness. You wanted to curl up beside him and disappear into nothing. You felt so helpless. So empty..
Until something new broke the silence. A creak, then a spark, and the soft hum of static. you felt the body beneath you twitch and you gasped, sitting up. "S-Spamton..?" You whispered, and the body jolted again. You could hardly see anything, but felt more movement. Had the power from your phone worked..? You saw flickering lights in front of you, the. Then suddenly turned on. Yellow and pink, a long-nose length away. He stared at you for a moment, whirring and buzzing coming from his agape mouth. It was almost like he was rebooting. "H-hey.. Buddy..?" You sniffled, holding his face, "You okay?" He twitched and slowly closed his mouth, causing the sound to stop. It was quiet for a long time and you wondered if a fraction of him even still remained in the big metal shell... "Am I.. Dead?" He gurgled, his voice a bit lower and more distorted. You shook your head and smiled softly, tears gently rolling down your blushing cheeks. "[Angel], [Angel]," He cooed, weakly lifting his trembling hands to your face and wiping away your tears with his thumbs. "Do you think.. I'm a [Big Shot]?" You laughed, leaning into his touch. "I never thought otherwise Spamton.." You whispered, leaning forward, and planting a gentle kiss on his forehead. "You've always been my big shot."
