POV - Narrator

Hangetsu was still laughing at Y/n's reaction when he sensed it—two overwhelming chakras approaching fast. His body stiffened. The air felt heavier.

He turned toward the gate and froze. Two cloaked figures emerged from the mist, black robes patterned with red clouds. His eyes widened.

"Akatsuki!" he shouted, backing away toward the center of the bridge. "What are you doing back in this village?!"

Drawing a kunai, Hangetsu readied himself. He knew he might have to fight. One of them wore a straw hat, the other carried a massive sword wrapped in bandages. The first had sunken eyes and a haunting calm. The other had bluish skin and sharp features—almost shark-like.

"I'll ask you one more time," Han said, voice shaking slightly. "Why are you here?"

A short silence.

"We're on a scavenger hunt," the blue-skinned one said with a grin. "And one of the items on our list happens to be here."

"You're after a tailed beast, aren't you?" Han guessed, horrified.

"Bingo," the shark-man replied.

"Not on my watch!" Han charged at them, knowing full well what he was up against. But his instincts told him something chilling—the silent one was far more dangerous.

"Nuisance," said the man in the straw hat.

Han locked eyes with him—and instantly regretted it.

Red eyes. Black tomoe swirling.

"Sharingan," Han whispered.

He tried to look away, but it was too late.

Still, he attacked. He had to do something.

"Itachi, I'm sitting this one out," the blue one said, sitting under a tree. "You've got this."

"Understood," the other replied.

It clicked in Han's mind. "Itachi... Itachi Uchiha. The man who slaughtered his own clan."

Han lunged with a kunai. Itachi vanished. "Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu!" A massive fireball roared toward him.

"Gufū Suika no Jutsu!" Han countered, summoning a swirling typhoon from his palm. Water consumed fire—extinguishing it on contact.

Itachi vanished into a cloud of crows.

"What the hell...?" Han spun around. Itachi was behind him. He hurled a kunai at his eye—but again, Itachi dissolved into crows.

Hovering now above the trees, Itachi watched from the sky.

"Suigadan!" Han cried. Spikes of water formed around his target and shot forward, impaling him—

But again, only crows remained.

"I don't understand... What's going on?" Han breathed, panic rising.

"You're already under my genjutsu," Itachi said, appearing before him.

"You lost the moment you looked into my eyes."

"Tsukuyomi."

In an instant, the world twisted.

Han was bound in a monochrome void, chained to a cross-like stand beneath a red moon. Time no longer felt real.

"Now," Itachi said calmly, "you're going to tell me everything you know about the Six-Tails."

"I'll never speak," Han growled, bracing himself for the worst.

"You will."

A needle appeared before his eye—and pierced it.

Han screamed. The pain was unbearable.

"This will last for three days," Itachi said coldly. "Unless you start talking."

Two days passed in this warped space. Han was broken, body and mind shredded by endless torment. He wished for death. Anything to escape.

Itachi finally smirked. "You won't last much longer."

POV - Y/n

I walked through the village, trying to cool off from earlier. Everything felt so... new lately. It was hard to keep up.

I groaned and covered my face. Ugh, I shouldn't have run from Hangetsu. But that playful flirting—

I blushed again. "Maybe I should go back," I mumbled, then remembered there was someone I did need to see.

I sprinted toward a familiar house on the main road. My childhood friend had been training non-stop the past few years, and I had good news.

I knocked on the worn auburn door.

No answer.

I knocked again—louder.

"Yes, yes! Hold your horses! I'm coming down!" came a voice I knew too well.

The door creaked open. There he was: a blue-haired boy with round glasses.

"Lady Y/n?!" he squeaked. "W-what are you doing here?!"

"Can't I visit my friend?" I teased. "It's only been a week. Don't act like it's been years." I laughed. "And drop the honorific."

"But that was before your sister became Mizukage! Now you're basically royalty!" he babbled. "And no, I will not drop the honorific, Lady Y/n."

I sighed. "Whatever. I came to tell you something important."

I paused dramatically. He stared blankly.

"...Try reacting a little more!" I barked.

"Yes ma'am!" he yelped, trembling.

"Anyway, Chojuro—congrats. You've been selected to become one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist." I said it in the most regal tone possible.

He blinked. His mouth hung open. "Y-you're not joking, are you?"

"Nope. Mei told me to deliver the news personally. She figured you'd want to hear it from a friend."

"Lady Fifth picked me?" he stammered.

"Yup. She's seen how hard you've worked. Her first order as Mizukage is for you to wield Hiramekarei."

He was speechless.

I placed a hand on his shoulder. "You earned it. I'm proud of you, Chojuro. You're a damn good shinobi."

He finally found his voice. "W-when do I get the sword?!"

"I dunno. Mei just said to bring you to her office."

"Oh! Okay—wait here. I need to change and fix my hair!" He slammed the door.

My eye twitched. "Chojuro! Don't you ever slam a door in my face!"

I heard whispers behind me.

"What a hot-head..."

"She's a bomb waiting to explode."

...Yeah, not wrong. I am kind of a lot.

But that's just who I am.
