I closed the door with dramatic flair, leaning back against it.
"Let me guess," Mei said dryly. "You're probably thinking 'Is this what love is?' Then cue the soft romantic music and boom—your perfect main character moment."
...She wasn't wrong. That's exactly what I was about to do. I was literally seconds away from going upstairs to put on love songs.
"How long were you standing there?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. "And how did you read my mind?"
"I've been here the whole time," she replied, casually sitting on the couch with a cup of instant ramen. "And as for your mind—easy. That's exactly what I thought when I fell in love. Of course, that ended with my heart shattered into a million pieces." She raised her voice dramatically on the last sentence.
"Anyway," she continued with a sly grin, "did you two do the deed?"
"That's none of your business!" I said, face burning. "But... no. We didn't."
"There, there, little sister. You'll get another chance." She pulled me into her lap, patting my head gently.
"Why'd you make him leave then?"
"All that noise you two were making could've woken Mom. And trust me, she would not have been pleased. Plus," she added firmly, "you're not having sex under my roof."
"I thought you were going to kill me," I muttered. "But you seem... weirdly chill about all of this."
"You don't think I've been in your shoes?" she asked. "If I were you, I wouldn't want a sister who interfered with my love life unless she had to. And Han's a good guy. Trustworthy. That's rare."
Then she added with a smirk, "Besides, if you don't start dating now, you'll end up like me—29 and still single."
"There's nothing wrong with that," I said seriously. "The right person will come around eventually."
We shared a rare moment—open, honest. We hadn't had one like it in so long.
"Oh, and just so you know," she said suddenly, her voice darkening, "if he breaks your heart, I will crush him like a walnut."
I sweatdropped. She was not kidding.

So much for that "See you tomorrow." Han went on a mission the very next day.
It had been a whole week since our late-night encounter, and I was losing my mind.
"Ugh! When is this man going to return?!" I shouted, startling a few villagers. They turned to look at me. "Hehe... sorry~" I said, rubbing the back of my head.
With nothing better to do, I decided to go see what my sister was up to. I could have gone on a mission, but noooo—Mei would never allow that. I stomped toward the office building, grumbling the entire way.
Before I knew it, I was already there.
"Ugh. She's probably doing something boring," I muttered. "Why am I even bothering—?"
"Maybe because I'm going inside too," said a voice behind me.
I turned and immediately recognized the purple eyes and toothy grin.
"Hangetsu, you ghoster!" I cried, rage flaring in my eyes.
Han froze, startled.
"How could you leave for a whole week without saying anything?" I said, running into his arms despite myself.
"Even though I'm hugging you, I'm very upset," I added, though my face softened as his scent enveloped me.
"I'm sorry. It was an urgent mission," he said, pulling me tighter and kissing my forehead. "But... I brought you something."
