Flowers and Pop Rocks has come to an end!
It's so surreal writing this, mostly because I can't believe that the concept of this book came from a random dream I had. The quarantine really bored me, and it was like a light bulb just switched on when I woke up after that dream. That's why I made this book.
I know it was pretty fucking cliche, especially after the first ten-ish chapters, but those are really the books I enjoy reading. Might as well write something I'd want to read too, right?
The reason the first few chapters were a bit confusing was because that was the foundation of it all. That was the contents of my dream, believe it or not. So, if some things confused you, don't feel stupid. It was something random my brain made when I was asleep.
To you guys on team Blake, I was with you from the start. Maybe that's why I tried my best to build a somewhat solid connection between him and Poppy from the beginning.
For all the Caleb fans out there (if there are any, I'm not sure), sorry I didn't give him a chance to be with Poppy or even redeem himself. I wrote this with the idea that Blake and Poppy would be together in the end. I wanted a reason for Poppy to definitively say that Blake was the right one for her, and in my opinion, having Caleb be the way he was (before he didn't respect Poppy's boundaries) until the end wouldn't give his character depth. And it would also lead to many what if's for Poppy in the future if he didn't show his true colors.
I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking this, but that's my thought process.
And speaking of Poppy's future, if you wanna read more, I'm planning on writing a sequel/spin-off (I don't really know what to call it) following Poppy and Blake's daughter. But I have to warn you, I've started college a few weeks ago, and I won't have as much time to write anymore, so it might not be out anytime soon. I'll update you guys when I start releasing chapters.
That's it for now. Love you guys and with all my heart, thank you so much for the support!
All the love,
dani :p
