A/N -TW: Needles.

Danielle tosses and turns in her deep slumber, collecting sweat on her forehead. Smoke raises from the car as she screams from the top of her lungs. Yelling into the void as her body falls into a hole, watching the lorry blow up in flames. The nightmares still playing vividly over and over again when she closes her eyes. Blood streaming down her eyelids as voices echo throughout the car, calling her name but she can't hold onto them any longer. Sweat now beginning to form droplets down her forehead only to remind her of the rain that trickled down her unconscious skin. Tears falling down her cheeks and onto the pillow beneath her head.

The brunette could hear sobbing coming from the room next to her. It had become a ritual at this point, for herself to come stumbling through the bedroom doors of her neighbour. Tonight was no different it seems. She sits up from her bed, pulling an oversized t-shirt over her body, walking through to the next room, witnessing the blonde crying into the blankets. Stefania sneaks under the covers, climbing quietly over the shorter woman, attempting to soothe her unwanted dreams. Placing a gentle touch on her arm, softly smoothing over her delicate skin.

The blonde abruptly kicks the duvet off them, flailing her arms around the sheets that are now sitting at their waists. Crying even more as she sobs into the pillow. Stefania whispers her name, bringing her back into reality while remaining to stroke her skin in a calming pattern. The blonde gradually wakes up, realising where she is. "I am so, so sorry," The girl cries as she chokes on her words.

"Hey, hey, Bambina..." The brunette sits up with the blonde, wrapping a reassuring arm around her waist, embracing her in a comforting hug. Danielle allows herself to cry into her shoulder. "You don't need to apologise when you are with me, okay?" Stefania keeps a hold of the blonde, playing with the back of her hair, gently tugging on strands in aid of stopping the floods of tears.

Soon enough, the blonde stops crying. They stay in an embraced position, laying her head gently on the Italian's shoulder while the brunette rubs her hands up and down her back. Sending goosebumps across her entire body. No words needing to be exchanged. They both let go of each other in unison, laying back into the mattress, facing one another.

"Thank you," Danielle says, "For being here, with me,"

The blonde stares deeply into her hazel eyes, wondering what the woman opposite her might be thinking. The Italian focusing on her soft, plump and pink lips. Slowly bringing her thumb up to the beautiful woman's cheek, causing her to blush with a simple touch. Stefania drags her thumb across her skin, wiping away a single tear drop. Leaning in as her touch lingers for a little longer, feeling the warmth connecting with her thumb, gently swiping back and forth. Until finally, she pulls her hand away, setting it to her own side. Danielle's breath hitches from the intimate moment, leaning in again, their noses touching and feeling a sudden urge to kiss the gorgeous girl in front of her. Using all of her willpower to refrain from their lips colliding... not wanting to make their situation awkward.

"Um, we should try and get some more sleep," The Italian hums, breaking the silence, pulling the duvet across both of their bodies. Resting her leg between the blondes. Danielle agrees, leaving the kiss to her imagination instead.

As the morning comes around, an alarm interrupting their peaceful doze, waking up both of the women. Danielle waving her hand around the duvet to find her phone tangled within the sheets of the bed. Accidentally touching the brunette's thigh with her hand, noticing she wasn't wearing any shorts, also hoping she didn't feel the brief touch. Darting her hand away finding her phone, quickly shutting of the noise.

"You set an alarm?" The brunette shift her body around, asking in a low and sultry voice, removing the arm that was relaxing on the blonde's waist. Curious to know why she had to be up early. She could even hear the birds chirping outside of the window.

"Uh- yes," The blonde twists her body around, her feet finding the floor, picking up a discarded hoodie from the floor and placing it over herself with a little bit of difficulty. "I have a check-up this morning with the hospital,"

"Do you want me to come with you?" The brunette struggling to open up here eyes, the morning sun shining through the curtains, resting on both of her elbows.

"No, it's okay," The blonder offers a small smile, knowing she must be tired, slowly walking out of the bedroom, "You get some sleep and I will be back a bit later,"

The familiar smells of the corridor hit the nostrils of the blonde, walking at a gentle pace down the rows of hallways, following the signs for outpatients. The room was filled with a variety of patients, twiddling their thumbs in the chairs. She checks in with the receptionist, then takes a seat in a quiet corner of the room, picking up an old magazine from one of the coffee tables. Flicking through the ragged pages, pausing every time she sees an actor or actress making the headlines.

The clinics were running late, which wasn't an unusual occurrence for a busy hospital like this one. Ten minutes had already passed, bopping her leg up and down in anticipation. Nerves beginning to form in her stomach, waiting for her name to be called. Doctors strolling in and out, with their clipboards firmly in their hands, reading names from a list. Scanning their eyes amongst the waves of people eagerly waiting. So many people patiently seated, waiting to be seen.

After a few more minutes, finally her name was called.

"So Danielle, how are you feeling?" The doctor asks, pulling up the patient's notes on his computer screen, quickly scanning the tab for vital information, leaving Danielle enough time to think about her answer carefully.

"I guess that I am okay..." The blonde begins, looking down at her palms, "The pain in my arm is much better,"

"I'm glad to hear it," He rolls up his sleeves, putting some disposable blue gloves on his hands, "May I?" He points to her arm, waiting for the nod of approval, which she does. Allowing him to scan the cast for any tears or infections. Tenderly analysing every inch. "And how is your head? Any vision problems? Balance issues?"

"Everything is fine..." Danielle speaks softly while he continues to do his examination, "The only thing bothering me is that," She holds in a breathe, pausing for a brief moment, "I have been having these nightmares about the car crash, which I know sounds stupid but they're keeping me awake, it's always the same scene,"

"That's not stupid at all, if anything..." He finishes his examination, pulling away in his stool, tapping his keyboard to write up some brief notes, "It's completely normal, your body is finding a way to deal with the trauma," He turns to look at the girl again, offering her a sympathetic smile on his square face, "It will get better over time, but for now, I can write you a prescription for some sleeping pills. If the nightmares don't improve, then let me know and we can help you,"

"That sounds great, thank you,"

"No worries, now do you mind if I take a blood sample?"

Danielle rolls up her sleeve, allowing access to her inner elbow. The doctor wraps a plastic band around the top of her arm, knotting it tight, pulsating the veins in her arm. She looks away from the needle, staring at the corner of the floor, feeling a slight scratch on her skin. It was over in a matter of seconds. Removing the band, and placing a cotton pad on top of the pin-prick, taping it to her arm. The doctor places the vile of blood into a plastic bag with a sticky note on top of it. If any anomalies arise, then she would be the first to know, but they are expecting it to be fine.

"We will see you again in two weeks," The doctor states, handing her a form to give to the receptionist, to book her next appointment.

I hope you liked this chapter. The next one is going to be juicy! So stay tuned for that. How was everyone's weekend?
