Stefania: I am okay. My stomach just hurts...
Danielle had just finished the rehearsals before receiving that text message. Excellent timing - as she was headed over their now. Roses in hand as she walks down the pavements of the city.
Barrett was going to walk with her but she decided to spend the rest of the afternoon with her boyfriend. The blonde didn't mind as it allowed her time to align her thoughts.
She wasn't sure if she was overstepping by visiting the brunette with no announcements of her actions. On the way over to the apartment she picks up a few of her favourite snacks from the local supermarket as well as some ingredients to make dinner tonight.
Danielle stands at the door with a brown paper shopping bag at her feet and the bouquet of flowers in her hand. Waiting for someone to answer the light knocking.
"Danielle?" Stefania announces quizzically, coffee exuding from her apartment. "What are you doing here?"
It takes a few seconds for the blonde to say anything. Observing the day-old clothes on her body and the messy locks accompanied with tear-stained pale cheeks. Maybe she really just isn't feeling well...
"You said you weren't feeling very well... so I come baring gifts..." Danielle softly smiles, gesturing to the roses and the shopping. Handing over the bouquet over to her girlfriend. "They need to be put in some water as soon as possible. They've been in my locker for a few hours..."
"You are sweet..." Stefania looks at her adoringly. Taking the roses from her hands and ushering her girlfriend inside. "You didn't have to stop by. I would have been fine on my own, you know."
"Well, that wouldn't make me a very good girlfriend now, would it?" Danielle raises her eyebrows, sticking the kettle on to make herself and her girlfriend a warm cup of tea. Quickly hugging the brunette from behind, snaking her arms around her waist. "Actually, I really thought you were mad at me..."
"For what bambina?" The Italian leans back into the embrace, loving every second of being against the blonde. "For the conversation yesterday?"
"Mhm— I thought I overstepped and I am sorry if I did." Danielle pushes her face into the nook of her shoulder. Resting her chin on the girlfriend as the kettle comes to a boiling stop. "I just wanted to make sure you had all of the information about Sarah."
"It'll be okay. I will figure out what to do with her... but in the meantime, let's just relax for the rest of the day?" Stefania pours the boiling water into two rather large mugs. "My stomach really does actually hurt. Also, I think I have a slight fever."
Danielle raises the back of her hand to her lovers forehead, testing the temperature of her burning skin.
"Yep. You are certified hot." Danielle teases, the corners of her lips curving to a smirk. "In more ways than one..." She switches the positions so she's now in front of the girlfriend; finishing off preparing the tea and offering the beverage to the Italian. "Come on, let me take care of you."
Both women make their way back into her bedroom. Snuggling under the duvet and sipping their warm teas. The steam condensing the window behind them. Sticking an animated movie on the laptop to fill the time and space between now and dinner. Stefania hadn't really eaten anything since she felt kind of nauseous but having her girlfriend next to her was definitely helping. Lifting her mood and spirit as time passes by... Danielle always seems to have that effect on her like a ray of sunshine.
Once the movie had finished, they both lay in the bed for a few minutes longer. Enjoying their company of one another. The sound of the Italians stomach rumbling interrupts their peaceful relaxation time.
