Chapter 25- A Chink in Your Armor

Niall's POV

Louis's breathing is slow and steady, peaceful. I run my hand through his hair gently, as not to wake him. We have been lying together for hours and I simply can't bring myself to move. With his head resting on my shoulder, feeling his warm breath run across my neck. He fell asleep around an hour ago and I have no plans to wake him up. I love watching him sleep.

It reminds me of when we first got together, when we were a secret. It's not that I miss being in the closet, I just miss the thrill of excitement I would get when kissed, knowing we were the only ones who knew. I miss that spark we had when we first slept together, I miss wanting nothing more than to be loved by him.

More than anything, I miss him wanting nothing more than my love.

I feel him begin to stir and, slowly yet surely, he gently lifts his head from my shoulder. He turns and reluctantly opens his eyes, staring right at me. He blinks once, then again slower. I watch his eyes trail over my face and a smile spreads across my lips. He smiles back brightly, nudging me with his hand on my chest.

"Oh, g'morning babe." He drawls out groggily. I smirk at his adorable morning voice. His innocence. I just love him so much.

"Niall? You alright?" I hear Louis ask me, suddenly alert. I nod my head and shoot him an encouraging smile. He seems to relax, his shoulders slumping in content. I watch him untangle himself from me and the bed sheets, attempting to stand up and begin his day. He saunters over to the bathroom and disappears behind the door. I hear the shower turn on and I take it as my cue to leave.

The events of yesterday play though my mind like a bad movie. Harry hates me and I can't say my feelings towards him are any less negative. All he has done is try and sabotage my relationship when all I want is his support.

I walk down the stairs slowly, taking my time with each step. I know Harry wants me gone but he wants to repair his relationship with Louis much more. I am going to have to use this to my advantage.

I start to smell bacon about halfway down the steps and any reservations I had about going downstairs have fled my mind. I race down the rest of the steps and speed into the kitchen, startling a very naked Harry.

"Hey Harry, um bacon?" I ask excitedly. He smiles at me and gestures to the counter behind him. A plate of bacon and a stack of pancakes sit behind him just calling me over. I see him smile at me and, for a minute, it feels like old times. When Harry and I were best mates with no drama. His smile quickly fades and he walks into the living room to eat his food. I sigh deeply and begin walking to the plates.

Breakfast in hand, I walk into the living room to join Harry. He is seated on the couch with a thoughtful expression on his face. Apparently he didn't hear me come in, because as I sit next to him he jumps slightly and stares around the room with wide eyes.

"Harry? Are you alright?" I ask cautiously. He clears his head with a shake and turns his attention to his food.

"Yea, I'm going out today. Bye, mate." He says hastily and rushes from the room. I hear his door slam upstairs just as Louis walks into the living room, fully clothed.

“Morning, Babe”, Louis says, plopping down next to me on the couch. I put my arm around his shoulders and he leans into my chest. I sigh in contentment.

“Morning, babe.”

Harry’s POV

“Holy shit.” I chant over and over again in my head as I pace my room.
