"Hey! How's Louisa?" Gulat na napatingin si Patience sa likod nito.
Naiwan siya mag-isa sa office. Everyone is busy doing their job. "She's fine. It was nothing serious," sagot niya kay Luke.
"I got so worried. Hindi ka kasi pumasok kahapon, but that's good news." He nodded. Naglakad patungo sa harapan niya si Luke bago umupo. His hand was on his back and he seemed nervous. "Did you get the flowers?" He smiled.
"Yes, they were beautiful. Louisa says thank you."
Napakamot ng ulo si Luke. "I didn't know what flower she liked so I tried the sun flowers." Inilabas ni Luke ang isang stem ng sun flower sa likod nito. "This is for you though. I hope you like sun flowers too," wika nito.
Nakangiting tinanggap ni Patience ang bulalak. "Oh, thank you Luke. It's beautiful," she said. Inilapag ni Patience ang bulaklak sa harap niya at doon niya napansin ang isang maliit ng papel na nakasabit sa katawan nito.
She looked at Luke before opening the paper. "May I take you to dinner? Just the two of us… "
Hindi niya maiwasang mapangiti. "You could just say that," she said.
"It's more romantic in writing. So would you?" He asked.
"Of course," she agreed.
Lumapad ang ngiti ni Luke and instinctly grab her hand. "Thank you," he said.
She can't help but squeeze his hand. She has been unfair to him. Hindi na kailangan sabihin ni Luke ang intensyon niya kay Patience, dahil obvious naman ito. He liked her, but Patience knows she doesn't feel the same. She's planning to tell him tonight. Ayaw na niyang paasahin pa ang binata, she won't be selfish.
"You should be working," isang boses ang nagsalita sa may pintuan.
Napatingin ang dalawa sa dereksyon nito. "Blaze, we are working." Si Luke ang sumagot.
"You don't look like you're working," ani Blaze na nakatitig sa mga kamay nila.
Hinila ni Patience ang kamay niya at hinawakan na lamang ang sun flower. "You should go Luke," she said.
He nodded before standing up and walking away. "I'll pick you up at 8," pahabol nito.
Naiwan si Patience at Blaze sa opisina. Hindi maipinta ang mukha nito.
"Do you need something?" Tanong niya, bago tumayo at inaayos ang mga papel sa mesa.
"We have a fraternization policy here Ms. Jimenez," pormal na wika ni Blaze.
Kunot-noong napatingin si Patience dito. "What? I never read that in the contract." Alam niyang hindi ito totoo. She meet some of her co-workers who are in a relationship. Especially Blaze's own secretary is currently in a relationship with one of her team.
"It's a new policy. Effective immediately," he commanded.
"So, balak mong siraan ang mga may relasyon na sa mga workers mo?" She challenged.
"Just tell them that don't get caught," he whispered. His eyes averted to the sunflower. "And put that away please, allergic ako sa sunflower," he added. Bago tuluyang umalis sa office.
She rolled eyes at him. Hindi niya maintindihan ang ugali ni Blaze. Like she's talking to a different person everytime. He's sweet, dangerous, arrogant and sometimes bossy.
EXACTLY 8 O'CLOCK in the evening tumunog ang door bell ng bahay niya. She looked at herself in the mirror. She's wearing a gold above-the-knee dress with black stockings and black stilettos.
