"PATTY nasaan na ang fiance mo? Halos isang oras na siyang late," nag-aalalang wika ni Tina. Her bestfriend.
Today is her wedding day. The Bestman, the maid of honor, the brides maid and the grooms men are already in the church except for the groom. Everything is set. Twenty lamang ang mga tao sa simbahan. This is a private wedding. A secret wedding to be exact. Hindi maiwasang kabahan ni Patience. Alam niyang hindi siya basta iiwan ni Louis. He promised her a happily ever after with their daughter na nasa tiyan niya ngayon. All the hardships that they've been through, ito na lang ang pinakahihintay nila. One step towards their happiness.
Parehas nilang pinangarap ang makasal sa harap ng mahal nila sa buhay. Akala niya tapos na ang kalbaryo ng buhay nila.
Tumunog ang cellphone na hawak niya. Ang pangalan ni Louis ang nakasulat doon. Habang patagal ng patagal ang tunog nito mas lalong nagiging kabado si Patience.
"Hoy! Bakit hindi mo sinasagot? Baka siya na 'yan." wika ni Tina at kinuha sa kamay niya ang cellphone.
Nakatingin siya kay Tina at nakikita niya ang pagbabago ng expression nito sa mukha. Hindi niya akalaing isang tawag lamang sa telepono ang tatapos ng kaligayahan niya.
Pagkababa ng telepono, mahigpit siyang niyakap ni Tina bago nagsalita, "Pa... Patty... naaksidente si... Louis on his way here. De... dead on... arrival daw," naluluhang wika nito.
