"Luke, come here!" Bailey yelled at his now year old son

Meredith drove herself outside of the kitchen in her electric wheelchair, she had regained some strength in her upper body and her right hand, just enough to control her own chair

"Hi, sweetie! How are you?" Meredith smiled as she saw little Luke in front of her

"Nana!" The little boy smiled

"Hi Bails, hi Laura" Meredith greeted them before turning her full attention back to Luke "Let's ask daddy to put you on my lap so we can drive to say hi to grandpa

Bailey placed his two year old son on top of Meredith's lap and watched them drive to the kitchen

"Hi baby brother" Zola smiled as she walked towards Bailey and Lisa with Riley, her 4 month old daughter in her arms

"Hi Zo" Bailey smiled "Hi little one" Bailey took Riley in his arms

"How have you been?" Laura asked Zola

Meanwhile Meredith and Luke found Derek and were chatting away

"Okay, Luke. We have lots and lots of pie for tonight, would you like a piece?" Derek asked him

"Ya!" The little boy yelled and threw his arms in the air, accidentally hitting Meredith "Sowwy"

"It's okay Luke" Meredith laughed

"Where's Zola?" Derek asked

"I think she's catching up with Bailey and Laura" Meredith replied

"Mommy, daddy!" Luke yelled

"That's your mommy and daddy, yeah" Meredith smiled, she enjoyed her grandkids so much

"Did you hear anything yet from Nena and Ellis?" Derek asked Meredith

"No.. Not yet" Meredith sighed disappointed

"They will be home soon" Derek kissed Meredith's temple but she winced as Luka started bouncing in her lap

"Can you carry him?" She asked and Derek nodded and picked up Luke

Meredith went to the porch as she heard a car arriving

Meredith recognised Nena's car and she was feeling the tension as the two woman got out of the car

Meredith shook her head as she saw her two girls had been crying

"I'm sorry, babies" Meredith whispered

"I just don't get it. We've been doing everything right!" Ellis broke down in Nena's protective arms "Why can't I get pregnant"

Nena and Ellis kept holding onto each other for a moment and Meredith decided to give them some space. She went back in to find Derek

"Are the girls here?" He asked

"They are" Meredith smiled sadly

"Again?" Derek frowned

Meredith nodded her head

"Damnit" Derek mumbled and threw his towel on the counter

"Hey" Meredith whispered and came a bit closer and forced her hand in Derek's "She will get pregnant"

Derek nodded in response and kissed Meredith

As on cue, the two woman entered the kitchen and said hello to Derek

Luke started playing with Nena so Ellis was standing by herself at the stairs

All the others were sitting on the couch and chatting away

Meredith had noticed that her youngest daughter was standing at the stairs as if she was lost which was totally normal

"Hi" Meredith whispered as she slowly drove towards Ellis

"Hi" Ellis whispered back

"You and Nena will be fine, one day you two will be great parents" Meredith said

"We're trying to adopt but we were declined" Ellis whispered

"Why?" Meredith asked shocked

"That doesn't matter, mom" Ellis whispered

"Is it because of me?" She asked

Ellis waited a bit but eventually nodded her head

"But Ellis, you don't have to stay hee, we still have the dream house, you can always live there with Nena and your kids" Meredith said

"Mom, I don't wanna live in the dream house, I wanna live with you and dad, Nena doesn't wanna leave either. We're happy here and we're useful" Ellis told her mom

"But Ellie, I'm ruining your chance on a kid.." Meredith started to tear up

"That's why we're trying IVF, mom" Ellis quietly said and hugged her mom "Nena and I will have beautiful kids one day" Ellis whispered

"Dad and I can move to the dreamhouse or we can rent something if you wanna stay in this house-" Meredith started again

"Mom, me and Nena don't ever wanna move out. We're so happy together" Ellis looked into her mother's eyes

"Sorry" Meredith whispered and drove away

"Mom, wait-" Ellis said and wanted to hurry after Meredith but her father grabbed her arm

"I'll go" Derek said and kissed Ellis' forehead

Derek went after Meredith and saw her sitting in their bedroom, the back of her chair facing him

"Don't" She snapped as he placed his hand on her shoulder

"This isn't on you, Mer" Derek said

"She can't adopt because they live with us" Meredith quickly said "Maybe.." She started whispering but didn't finish

"Let them try IVF first, then we can always talk about other options" Derek said

"I need a nap" Meredith said

"Don't you wanna try to have lunch first with the kids?" Derek asked

"No, I prefer using my feeding tube" She said harshly

"You were excited for today's lunch" Derek frowned

"Gosh Derek, leave it!" She snapped "I'll try and have dinner with you, I'm tired, okay?"

"I'm sorry. I'll help you into bed" Derek quietly said

"I shouldn't have snapped" Meredith apologized

"Don't beat yourself up and don't shut us out. Yell if you're awake" Derek tucked her in and kissed her forehead "Love you"

"Love you too" She muttered

Derek left the room and closed the door and went to his kids to have lunch together
