"I keep telling you Alayna

"I keep telling you Alayna..." Rafe continued as I follow him around the kitchen who now stopped and turned around to meet eye contact, "I forgot to pay for cigarettes I bought from him last week, Barry isn't patient"

I still listened and wasn't sure if he should be trusted. Barry wouldn't bring a gun over cigarettes, would he? Just something inside my guts just can't give in and believe the boy.

"How many did you take from him?" I questioned crossing my arms as he made himself busy round the kitchen.

"Don't get too nosey" he shook his head as he squints his eyebrows while pouring himself a glass of alcohol.

Ugh, the older boy couldn't even look me in the eye when he's answering my questions. I honestly feel like he's telling the truth but something just ticks me off. I couldn't let him go that easily.

I'll see for myself. If Rafe won't tell me anything, I'll investigate further alone.

"Fine" I huffed as I place a load of cash onto the counter beside him, "This is for the sake of MY life, understand?"

He stares at the stack of notes nodding in response as I make my way towards the front door.

As I reach the door knob, I see Sarah hovering above the stair case who seems like she had just woken up from a heavy sleep.

"Hey, you're leaving?" She mumbled as she rubbed her eyes and focused on me at the door.

"Yeah, busy day today. I'll see you later" I smile as I open and shut the door behind me before walking next door home.

Walking through the garden towards my house, I see Leah's car parked just by our modern water fountain.

As I unlock the front door with my keys, I walk in to see Leah slumping on the couch with Kiara who both watch tv in the lounge.

"Hey Kie" I greet as she waves and I run upstairs to my bedroom.

Finally changing into clothes other than Sarah's shirt I charge my phone on my nightstand beside my bed.

Checking for notifications I see figure movements through the window from across the fence in the corner of my eye.

I lift my head to see Rafe getting into his range rover which was parked on their driveway.

I couldn't help but only wonder if he's really telling the truth. Could he be lying to me just to get money? The urge in my stomach calls to find out so I quickly grab my keys seeing him starting up the engine suspiciously look out.

I quickly pace down the stairs ignoring Leah who spoke out to me then open the door shutting it behind me.

Glancing over the big stone fence, Rafe takes the wheel driving out the front gates.
