The Castle

Soon enough we had reached the castle and the monsters had died down. Inside the gates there was a small clear spot where we could take a rest. We were exhausted.

Olive sighed heavily.

"Finally, some rest." Zelda said.

"We've come so far but we still have to do so much."

Link was a couple feet away from the group, keeping guard. I walked over.

"Link, go rest. You need it."

"I need to keep guard."

I knew that he needed the rest the most out of the four of us. He had fought restlessly and got badly wounded.

"I'll keep guard. We can stay here together."

He agreed, and I suggested I tended to his wounds. He was okay with that.

He didn't even flinch during the process. It was amazing. Link was amazing.

I was caught staring for a bit too long and he snapped me out of my trance.

"(Name)? "

"Oh? My apologies... I was lost in thought."

"I could tell. What's on your mind?"

"I was just noticing how you didn't even flinch when I helped your wounds. It really made me wonder what goes through your head."

"O-oh... That's an interesting thought, really. Nobody's ever really pointed that out."

"Wanna talk about it? I won't relay to anyone if you don't want me to."

"I've never really talked about it, but... it's really just the weight of being the princess's appointed knight. I have to stay silent, no matter what. It's my choice, but I don't feel as if my opinion matters. I don't want to be a bother. I just keep to my job."

I knew something was up. Link was always so stoic and silent, just like in Breath of the Wild.

"Link..."

"My apologies, I shouldn't have been so-"

"You shouldn't have been so open? So free? Talking to someone you trust is a good way to help you feel better."

"Well then, thank you for this."

We sat there for a couple more moments, in silence.

"(Name), we should get back now. We've had our break."

"Yeah, I guess we should."

We entered the castle, immediately faced with multiple golden lynels and other hard to beat enemies.

"Olive, Link, go that way," I said pointing in a random direction. "Zelda, you and I are gonna go the other way." Zelda nodded and we split ways with the other two.

Zelda was a pretty good fighter. She took out multiple groups of moblins, bokoblins and lizalfos. She even took down a lynel.

"Zelda! That was sick!" I yelled.

"Th-thank you.." She blushed.

We met back with the others, including the champions, outside the sanctum. We stepped inside and the ground shook like an earthquake. A humanoid creature rose from the ground, resembling a humanoid version of Calamity Ganon.

"Oh no..." I muttered.

Hey! Finally, I finished the chapter. I know it was short, but I was not motivated to write this part of the book. Also, I updated the author note before this chapter so check that out, I asked a couple questions.

I've been having multiple gender identity crisises so fun. Right now I'm a male, I use he/they, and check out my other book to talk to me about gender and sexuality and share my journey. So thank you for staying with me thus far!

Oc's belong to me, Canon characters belong to Nintendo, storyline belongs to me, and motivation belongs to my dearest friend. She has changed my life and I would not be here if she hadn't helped me. [redacted], you know who you are. Thank you so much!

And thank you to all of you for staying with me while writing this book.
