It was just us. Link, Zelda and I, as the champions fought on the field and Olive stood guard outside. Just us and Calamity Ganon himself.
"(Name), are you sure you're ready for this?" Link asked, worried.
"I haven't come this far to ditch you now." I muttered, readying my sword.
The beast roared, charging at us. We dispersed in different directions, hoping to outnumber him. He began to mainly target Link, sensing the magic of the Master Sword. That made it difficult for Zelda and I to attack him.
A powerful roar sent me stumbling backwards. That wasn't just a roar; that was triumph. He had Link cornered. The beast raised it's large claws, about to strike Link.
"No!" Zelda shouted, racing over to him.
This was it. Either Zelda's power would reveal itself, or Link would die.
A blinding light flooded the room. Calamity Ganon screeched as if the very sight of it burned his being. Link escaped from under him, catching up to me.
"(Name), remember that Anti-Malice? Do you still have it?" I nodded and retrieved it from my pocket. "Throw it at him!"
I whipped it with enough force for it to break upon contact. Ganon dropped to his knees.
Link rushed over to Zelda's side as her light started to dwindle. As the light faded, she fell into Link's arms.
"Thank you." She muttered. The beast pulled itself to its feet, growling. I ran up behind it, charging my sword for a spin attack. I sliced through its back, making it screech.
"Dude, shut up!" I yelled, covering my ears.
Zelda shut her eyes and mustered enough power to form the Bow of Light.
"Can you two give me enough time to ready this?" We both nodded. We needed to stall him.
Link aimed his sword and blasted a beam at the beast as I attacked it head-on. I wasn't paying attention when it grabbed me and threw me into the wall. I fell to the floor, adding to my previous wounds.
"(Name)! Are you ok?" I pulled myself to my feet, holding the wall for support.
"I-I'll manage." I coughed.
Link flipped backwards, evading Ganon's swipe. It was like he was moving at the speed of light.
Huh, I guess that's what flurry rushes look like to other people.
Suddenly, a blinding arrow was knocked into Ganon's shoulder. His power was waning and he was weakening.
"It is time. Time for us to win back Hyrule!" Zelda announced, readying another arrow.
Link and I distracted Ganon from Zelda, weakening him. Zelda continued to knock arrows at the beast, until finally, he collapsed to his knee.
"Link, now!"
Link sprinted to Ganon, sword in hand. He leaped to meet the beast's eyes, swing his sword above his head. As he descended, he lodged his sword through Ganon's skull, carving all the way down his body. He glanced at Zelda and nodded. Zelda nodded back and closed her eyes.
She reached her hand, the golden triforce shining. A ball of poweful light emerged. Ganon mustered all his strength to swing at her one last time, but he was trapped by the light. It engulfed his hand, growing to spread across his being.
Soon, he was completely submerged in the light, his screeches fading out as he was sealed in the Sacred Realm. Zelda slowly dropped her hand as we both rushed to her side.
"We... we did it."
The others flooded into the room, celebrating.
"Did you have a hard time outside?" I asked Olive.
"A bit, but Impa came to help me. But forget that, you just saved Hyrule!" I laughed.
"We all saved Hyrule, really." I looked around the room. "We all came together and stopped the Calamity. Well, for the next 10,000 years, at least."
King Rhoam entered the Sanctum, followed by a few guards. We exchanged nods as he walked over to Zelda.
"Father,"
"My dear Zelda. You've done it. Your powers awakened. You saved Hyrule." He smiled. "I couldn't be more proud of you." He took her into a hug.
Zelda looked bewildered, but sunk into the embrace.
Tell me you had a bad childhood without telling me you had a bad childhood.
Urbosa began to approach us.
"I'll leave you and your wife alone." Oli joked and walked away.
"That was pretty awesome, kid. No regular person could have pulled that off."
"Um, t-thank you."
"Are you scared of me?" She laughed.
"Not scared, just... woah. I've always wanted to meet you. You're, like, my favourite character. I don't care if I'm straight, gay, bi or asexual, you'll always have a very special place in my heart."
"Aw, how sweet."
Zelda caught everyone's attention.
"Ganon is gone, but the monsters on Hyrule field are not! This is not over! We can still fight!"
The whole room cheered and rushed back onto the field.
Woah! New chapter! I've edited all the other chapters, so remember to go re-read those. You don't understand how many times I had to re-write this chapter. It REFUSED to save.
With this chapter, there was a very different writing style from the others, but I tried to keep that good ITC charm :)
I'm so glad to be back writing this book again. I remember writing the last chapter, like, a million years ago. I literally live in a new house and go to a different school lol. I hope you guys are on board for what's to come!
