Maddie's P.O.V.

My heart stops and I feel like I've been hit by a car all over again. Luke was the other driver? Is he okay? Please let him be okay.

I'd actually rather get hit by a car than feel this. The monitor next to me beeps faster as I take deep breaths. A doctor walks in, coming to my side. "Ms. Harrison, please calm down. Take deep breaths." He tells me as he looks at a chart on the side of the bed.

I nod, trying to calm down.

"L-Luke. Where is he?" I say between breaths, sitting up more which makes me wince at the pain.

"He's a couple rooms down."

"Can I please see him?" I almost beg.

"Not tonight, Maddie. It's best if you just rest your body right now.. Luke is sleeping anyways. He's in a medical induced coma so he can heal quicker. When he wakes up, hopefully tomorrow, you'll be able to see him." He says before leaving the room.

I look at Ashton and Hayden. "I'm so sorry for leaving without saying anything, you guys. I needed a break.. Just some time."

"I'm not going to get mad, Maddie. But I do need to say it was pretty stupid to do that." Ashton mumbles.

"I understand, Ash.." I nod and look down. "Is Michael mad about me wrecking his car?"

"Mads, I'm sure he's not even thinking about that right now, you're okay. It's not your fault anyways."

I nod again and look back up at them. "Can I see the others?"

As soon as I say that, Hayden's stomach growls loudly, making us burst into laughter. "Ash, go take Hayden out for some late dinner or something and tell the others to get their butts in here." I smile and wave them off.

The rest of the night passes by quickly. We convinced the nurse to let the six of them come in at once. It wasn't that hard, all it took was an autograph for her daughter and they got in. We talks about the most randomist of things, just enjoying each others company and distracting each other from the situation we all were in.

In the morning I begged to go see Luke, even if he wasn't awake yet. The doctor agreed, mostly because he was busy and didn't have time to deal with an annoying, nagging teenager.

As Everest wheels me into Luke's room I feel like I'm that naive school girl all over again. My mind travels back to when I first met him.

I take my book from my bag and open to the last page i was on, only to be interrupted by someone.

"Hello, I'm Luke." A tall, gorgeous blonde boy said as he sat down next to me in my History class. "I'm Maddie." I reply and continue to read Pride and Prejudice. "Whatcha readin'?" Luke questions and snatches the book from my hands. "Ugh, leave me alone!" I beg and reach for my old book.

He smirks and sets it down in front of me. "Why are you reading such an old book? This thing is ancient!" He exclaims and taps the cover. "Because i like it." I tell him and shove my book into the bag. "Nice glasses." He comments and smiles. "Thanks..." I mumble and adjust them so they sit comfortably on the bridge of my nose.

"Aren't you the bad boy that lives on my street? You know, the one who skips school, smokes, always up to no good with your friends?" I ask Luke. He chuckles, "Aren't you the good girl? The one who never misses school, is always home on time and studies all night?" Luke smirks.

I roll my eyes at him and pick at my nails. "Kind of. But it's called being smart."

"It's called being a nerd." He replies with a smile. I roll my eyes again and sit back. "Why are you even talking to me?" I question. "Because you're interesting..." Luke smiles and pokes my cheek. I laugh with him and stand when the bell rings.
