Eyes of grey

Chapter 1

"LANDO COME ON WERE GONNA MISS THE TRAIN!" Layla yelled up the stairs in frustration.
Lando runs down the stairs with a stressed look plastered on his face
"Layla I can't find my hairspray have you seen it?" He questioned.
I u-ugh oh wait a minute is this it? Layla rummaged through her bag before pulling out a can.
"Yes!!" Lando sighed in relief.
"What would I do without you Lay"
I just rolled my eyes at him he can be very dramatic but I couldn't live without him. Lando and I grabbed our trunks and made a dash for the door both getting stuck in the process, after we had riggled out of the door we got into the car. Before I knew it we had pulled up outside Kings Cross station I could feel the anxiety starting to build up inside me before Lando gave me a reassuring look to remind me I was safe and would be okay.

Grandma handed us our tickets I just looked at Lando completely confused.
"But Gran this says Platform 9 3/4 that can't be right" Layla questioned completely puzzled.
"Actually Layla I read about this in Hogwarts and History Platform 9 3/4 is right between 9 and 10 don't worry I know exactly what I'm doing" Lando replied looking smug and very proud of himself.
Gran giggled and said "Quite right now you two best hurry don't miss the train on your first year it's leaves at exactly 11am whether your on board or not"
We said goodbye to grandma and grandpa before quickly pushing our trolleys into the station.
"Lando you said the train was between 9 and 10 call me crazy but I'm pretty sure there's no train here." I said.
"Lay come on put some trust in your older bro of course it's not here, the muggles would see it!" Lando replied acting as if it was obvious.
"So uh where is it then?" I questioned at this point thinking my brother had lost his mind.
"We have to run through that wall" Lando said bluntly.
Okay yeah I was right he has lost mind. In fact not his mind he had lost his sanity all together!
"ARE YOU CRAZY" I whisper shouted back at him.
"Nope I'm not at least from what I know anyway, that wall is a portal on the other side is the Hogwarts Express." Lando explained it was all starting to make sence now.
Lando made a run for the wall I quickly followed behind hoping he was right. We transported through the wall and standing before us was the scarlet red train we were in complete awe of it.
I looked at the time it was 10:50 which ment we had exactly 10 minutes to find a free compartment and relax for a bit.

We quickly boarded the train and saw everyone's excitement as it pulled away. It was quiet in our compartment which I found strange because Lando normally never stops talking I could see he was nervous but who could blame him I was nervous too with it being our first year and also having to be the new kids.

The quiet definitely did not last for long, about 5 minutes into the journey our compartment door flew open making me and Lando nearly jump out of our skin we heard laughing and saw two girls and a boy stood there looking rather embarrassed and amused.
"Oh so sorry didn't realise this compartment was taken" one of the girls said quickly.
"It's ok, are the others full you can sit in here with us if you like" I said secretly hoping they would say stay.
"Thank you." the three said as they came in and sat down.
"Well allow me to introduce ourselves this is Aurora I'm Rena and this is my twin brother Remus we're the Weasleys" she said sounding quite excited.
"Hey!! I'm Layla and this is my older brother Lando." I said hoping Lando would say somethingbut he just sat there and looked speechless looking at Rena.
I gave him a gentle kick in the shin and he snapped out of it.
"Oh uh hi yeah I'm Lando Layla's brother" he said quite awkwardly.
"Sooooo Layla what year are you going into? My sister Aurora is going into 4th." Remus asked.
I got excited maybe Aurora and I could be friends.
"I'm going into 4th as well" I replied in a bubbly tone.
Lando, Remus and Rena hit it off almost straight after that wondering out of the comparment leaving me and Aurora together alone.

We both looked at each other with a smile then burst out giggling.
"Omg how awkward was that!!!" Aurora said trying to contain herself.
"I know right!!" I agreed both of us still laughing
We started to chat about what we liked to do in our free time and having a lot of fun. Laughing so hard our stomachs began to hurt.
An announcement came over the speakers and said..
"we are nearing Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry please put on your uniforms if you have not already."
