Chapter 10

The Christmas holidays where now getting close Layla and Lando had been at Hogwarts six months. Lando having gained a crush on no other then Astoria Greengrass only issue is she does not share the same interests for him. Draco and Layla had been official now for five months and they're fathers in Azkaban prison for 4 months with life sentences.
Narcissa and Larissa had abandoned both they're homes and moved into a manor together not far from Hogsmeade.

Draco's POV

I heard a scratching noise on the window that has woken me up two days in a row I felt tired and grumpy. Layla slept in her dorm last night with Aurora something about girly time I got up and walked to my window muttering..
"Merlin I swear If it's not that stupid alarm it's this fucking owl" I growled trudging towards the window however it wasn't my owl it was Phina the owl of Layla's cousin except it wasn't holding anything. I grunted shut my window leaving the owl outside getting back into bed and becoming comfortable once more.

Layla's POV

Aurora and I where woken this morning by something rather new to me a Hufflepuff boy laying between us humming and painting his nails? I rolled over still asleep and heard a humming voice singing a familiar tune expecting it to be Aurora I opened my eyes to my surprise it was not Aurora.
"AAAAAHH" I think my sole left my body.
"Morning Layla oh and morning Ced" Aurora was so casual about this guy just laying between us. I didn't even know fully who he was.
"Morning lovelies" the male voice spoke but slightly feminine toned.
I was still laying there in confusion.
"Sorry who are you?" I asked but more spat the way I said it.
"Cedric Diggory, hey Aurora what do you think of this colour?" He questioned flicking his hand up.
"Very camp" she teased back
"Fabulous, right I'll see you two in DADA" he kissed our cheeks in a freindly kinda way and pranced out of the room. What the fuck just happend.

"Ugh Aurora that actually just happened right?" I grumbled groggily.
"What do you mean?" She asked. Was I imagining what just happend.
"Just the Hufflepuff boy that was laying with us painting his nails kissed our cheeks and skipped into a Slytherin common room" I shrugged sarcasticly.
"Oh yeah he does that all the time it's normal" this Girls on drugs I swear aswell as Cedric.
"Checked your E numbers lately?" I replied jockingly.
"Fuck off you twat" she laughed taking the pillow from behind her head and almost knocking me the fuck out.

We got dressed and made our way to Defence Agaisnt The Dark Arts picking Draco and Blaize up along the way.
"Did you guys get the letter?" Blaize asked our group.
"About the new teacher?" Draco replied
"Yeah Professor Lupin I think it was" Aurora added in.
"I didn't get this letter what are you talking about?" I asked completely puzzled.
"Well since Umbitch fucked off we have a new teacher Professor Lupin" Blaize explained. Right that makes sence.
We walked into the classroom the boys in front then taking our seats together at the back.
The new teacher came into the room standing in the front and then scanning the room taking in the surrounding or atleast I thought that's what he was doing until he looked directly at me and stopped then rushing over.
"Layla Lightheart my Merlin pleasure to meet you" he shook my hand enthusiastically why is he so excited to meet me.
"Um hello sir?" I replied cautiously.
"Oh forgive me you see I've heard about you from Dumbledore and it really is quite amazing I'd like to give you a free period so we can talk today" he replied what on earth would he want to talk to me for.
"Ok yes that's fine" at this point I was getting fed up of him make him happy and he will leave me alone I thought. Wrong.
He went back to the front of the room and taking a cloth off a wardrobe? This is DADA not New York fashion week.
Aurora gasped making me jump.
"Bloody hell Aurora what wrong?" I asked catching my breath.
"That's a boggart!" She whisper yelled.
"What on Merlins beard is a boggart?" All the questions I look like an idiot.
"It's dark magic that shows your biggest fear they're shape shifters" Blaize explained.
Professor Lupin went on to explain boggarts and how to do a spell that would turn them from your fear to something funny.
"The word is Ridikulus it's a simple flick motion" Professor stated.
"This class is rediculous" Draco commented earning a giggle from me and Blaize, Aurora clearly still in awe.
We lined up with other students waiting for a turn to defend themselves against the boggart people's boggarts where things like spiders and clowns I don't have a clue what mine or my freinds will be.
It was Auroras turn the boggart turnt into Snape and then she put Snape in his grandmothers clothes making everyone howl of laughter.
Then the time id been dreading I stepped to the front of the line and the whoosh of smoke came across the floor before turning into a familiar male figure pointing a wand at me. My father.
"CRUCIO" he shouted at me making me drop to avoid the spell then remembering it wasn't real.
"Ridikulus, ridikulus" I tried over and over but it didn't work I couldn't think of anything happy enough and it soon became too much tears started welling in my eyes except the weren't clear like normal tears the were a deep purple. Draco ran to my side and Professor Lupin got rid of the boggart.
"Layla your eyes" Draco looked at me concerned.
"Class dismissed" Lupin rushed everyone but Draco and I out and gave me a tissue.
"W-what about them" i sniffles wiping the purple tears off my face.
"T-they're purple a lavender colour that's not part of adhd is it?" he questioned.
"No Draco it's dark essence" Lupin said me and Draco just looked completely mind boggled.
"Dark what?" I asked
"Dark essence Layla has this never happened before, the eyes and tears I mean?" Lupin questioned.
"Once when I was young my father had..." I trailed off.
"Whatever you tell Draco or I in confidence will be kept between us Layla I promise" I felt slightly relaxed at his words.
"My father used the Cruciatus curse on me but instead of it hurting me in a torturous way it just stung for a second then stopped and I cried purple tears but it hasn't happened again until today" I explained I completely forgot about whatever this was since it had been 10 years.
"Yes well I imagine when your father used that curse against you, much like Mr Harry Potter you absorbed the curse instead of being damaged by it extremely rare thing almost never happens" he explained Draco was pale looked like he had seen a ghost but I appreciated him staying with me.
"Mr malfoy are you okay?" Lupin and I had a bit of a smile seeing how this conversation was affecting him.
"Yeah yeah f-fine Professor carry on" Draco mumbled back.
"Layla when this happened all those years ago did you do anything or perhaps carry anything?" Strange questions he asked he clearly wanted me to say something except I didn't know what it was.
"Not from what I'm aware of sir" I replied he stood and pulled a chain out of his draw it had a green crystal of some sort on it and handed it to me.
"Here I want you to wear this and do not take it off this stone will keep the dark essence within you without it you may lose control and do unthinkable things in times of anger of distress" k great no pressure then. he had a seriousness in his tone this wasn't a joke.
"Okay Thankyou Professor" I thanked him standing to leave pulling Draco up with me.
"Layla.." I turned to look at him "your a very special witch and have a lot more to discover when the time is right I can help with that" he finished and finally let Draco and I leave.

Draco's POV

That may well have been the strangest conversation I had ever been part of in my life.
I feel speechless Layla and Lupin joked about me seeing a ghost well I feel like I had seen one, no not just one I feel like I'd seen five. How could she be so calm about this having just found out she has an overflow of dark magic in her body. This girl is mad but I, no no love? I'm 16 how could I possibly be in love someone? I like Layla alot she's amazing but love after only 5 months?
The rest of the day went by quickly thank Merlin.

Layla's POV

Draco, Aurora and I where laying on my bed in my dorm just waiting for Knott, Blaize, Pansy and Cedric to arrive it's a Friday so we were gonna play some games together.
After ten minutes of small talk and staring at the ceiling Cedric flung the door open and strutted over.
"Hey girl" Aurora stood and hugged him.
Cedric then slouching down onto a chair and crossing his legs no way he is straight I giggled to myself I have to admit I do like Cedric as a freind he's funny.
"Hello!" The door swung open again. What is with my freinds and making flashy entrances.
Pansy, Blaize and Theodore Knott gathered in and sat on the floor in a circle leaving gaps for us.
"Well come on" Theo called dragging us off the bed and into the circle.
Blaize started looking through his backpack before pulling out a bottle of Revictuserum the truth potion and placed it in the middle we where going to play spin the bottle.
"Aurora truth or dare" I asked excitedly.
"Hm dare" she replies nervously.
Me being the amazing friend I am and knowing of her crush on Theo....
"I dare you to sit on Theo's lap for 5 minutes" I grinned Aurora's cheeks went a light shade of pink. And she made her way to Theo. He seemed alright with it his arms holding around her waist. In fact he looked rather pleased about it I wonder if... Anyway.
I took myself from my thoughts when I heard Pansy calling my name.
"Lightheart, truth or dare" Pansy had an evil-ish smirk but then again she always did.
"Dare" I replied wanting to see how low she would go.
"I dare you to go into the closet with Cedric for 7 minutes" my stomach dropped Draco would not he happy about this.
"Okay" I brushed down my jumper and rolled down my skirt just for Draco's peace of mind however I know Cedric wouldn't care either way.
Cedric and I went into the closet we where stood pretty close together but it was fine.
"Oh Merlin the humidity in here, I'm gonna look a wreck" Cedric said dramatically tapping parts of his face. I just laughed and we joked until the closet unlocked and we could get out I looked over to Draco who looked nervous so I went to sit with him placing a kiss on his cheek and holding his hand. Immediately seeing the tense boy relax. We played a few more rounds then everyone left going back to they're dorms including Aurora.

Aurora's POV

I left the room feeling someones eyes burning in the back of my head. Theo's. He clearly wanted to ask me something i could feel it. Before he plucked up the courage.
"Wea-" I turned to look at him "sorry Aurora, I was just wondering if maybe.. You would like to hang out sometime?" he asked me nervous and blushing slightly.
"I'd love to" I replied his eyes lit up slightly.
"How about.... tomorrow we can go to Hogsmeade?" Theo offered.
"Yeah sounds great, good night Theo" paused at his dorm door.
"Goodnight Aurora" he lent down and placed a kiss on my cheek then going into his and Blaize's dorm.
It was late so I quietly ran back to Gryffindor and got into bed to my luck Hermione wasn't there.
Tonight sweet dreams where garunteed.
