Chapter 16

We were in the middle of frozen when the doorbell rang.

Emily was asleep by now after 3 movies and Raymond complaining about losing his manliness thanks to Barbie...

So I switched the television off and followed Raymond downstairs.

He swung open the door to reveal a man. Hey!! he's the uncomfortable beta!!

"Alpha there's a man here who claims to know Luna." He said.

I couldn't hear the rest of their conversation as I was too busy staring at the man behind him.

Realisation struck me and I blinked, once, twice, and then snapped out of my daze.

I squealed like a little girl and jumped down the porch as I embraced my older brother in a hug.

"I missed you!! How did you even find me?" I asked but as he was about to reply he was cut off by a deafening growl.

Fuck. I totally forgot Raymond doesn't know what Toby looks like.

I slowly turned around and grinned at him.

I walked to the shaking alpha, ignoring my brother's "Jessica don't!"

I placed my hand on his bicep, damn it's perfect, and said "Raymond," I heard my brother wince but I continued "meet Toby, my brother.", enunciating each word.

And I swear I saw him visibly relax.

"Show your luna's brother a room upstairs." Said Raymond, his teeth still clenched.

Leaving my dumbstruck and shocked brother behind.

"Okay, so thanks a lot, that you let my brother stay with us, I mean even though you technically did kidnap me.. But don't you think you shouldn't use the official terms in front of him.. He's human after all.." I said, getting really lost in between.

"I like you like this." He said, as he took a seat on the couch.

"Like what?" I asked awkwardly rolling on the balls of my feet.

"You know ranting about stuff and not being so quiet." He said and gestured for me to sit next to him.

"Thanks? I guess..." I said as I took a seat next to him.

"He is not your brother is he?" Raymond asked.

"He's my adoptive brother.. How did you..? Is he..?" I said as the fact that my brother could be one of them struck me like a bolt of lightning.

Raymond just nodded.

"About the growling.. You need to tone it down a notch." I muttered and was sure he heard me when he shook his head.

He said "Us alpha's are over possessive of our mates and family. I happen to be known for the best control but with you... If I didn't find out that he's your brother I might've ripped his head off."

My eyes widened "okay then?" I said trailing it out a bit.

He chuckled. And I swear it just got even sexier every time I heard it.

I blushed. For no reason at all, I blushed.

He looked at me, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

He rested his palm on my cheek and said "I love it when you blush."

As if there weren't enough butterflies in my stomach whenever I was around him. I might have a nest in me or something..

I looked down, blushing even deeper, and looked back up at him.

He slowly and cautiously leaned down while I just stayed frozen, rooted where I was.

Then his lips met mine and I swear fireworks are an understatement.

The 4th of July is also an understatement.

It was like he was meant for me. He was my forever and he was my infinity.

My hands were running through his hair and his were on my waist as he pulled me on top of him.

Where has he been all my life?

I swear one more kiss and I'm never leaving him ever.

We pulled apart when a knock echoed through the room.

I giggled when I saw the furious expression on his face and how adorable he looked with his hair messed up like that.

He walked to it and practically ripped the door off it's hinges.

"What is it?" He said in a calm tone that made me scared as hell.

Wow he can be scary. I'd hate to be the person on the other side of the door.

"Alpha, I have moved luna's brother into the last room down the hall." The beta, whose name I have yet to learn, said seeming really calm for having a seething alpha in front of him.

"Good." Raymond said and slammed the door on his face.

"That's not nice you know." I said.

"I know." He replied.

As he walked to me and his lips met mine again.
