Thank you so much for this amazing cover @Deliquio !!! This chapter is dedicated to you! :)
"Do we have to do this now?" I asked.
"You don't have to if you don't want to." He replied.
"I'll tell you who it reminds me of, for now that's it because I'm really not in the mood." I said.
"Okay." He smiled.
"It reminds me of a boy I used know. Let me tell you he went crazy. Literally." I said.
"Do you still have feelings for this boy?" He asked, I could tell he was angry.
"God, no. I'd rather die." I said.
He nodded and just held me tighter.
"Do you want to go out for a walk?" He asked.
"Please." I said, the feeling of wanting to get out of this house just getting stronger.
He lifted me up, like a bride being carried across the threshold, as I squealed.
"Put me down." I giggled.
"Not gonna happen." He said, smiling playfully.
He carried me all the way to the park, we were getting weird and confused stares, but now I was pretty comfortable.
I swung my legs back and forth and snuggled into Raymond's chest.
I started humming the tune to Iris by GooGoo dolls.
When we reached the park and he set me down.
"Finally." I sighed and rolled on the balls of my feet.
"You look comfortable." I heard a voice say behind us.
We turned around to face the beta.
"Hey.. Random dude..? You're the beta right?" I said.
Raymond smiled at me and I swear The beta's eyes would fall out if they got even a centi meter wider. Raymond put me down. Finally.
"I'm.. Ronald. Yes, I'm the beta." He said.
"We will see you later." Said Raymond and he grabbed my hand when I turned around.
"Why is everyone so.... Confused to see you with me..? And what's with all the wide eyes?" I asked as we walked through the park.
Children playing stopped and just stared at us in either confusion or shock.
One kid even got hit by a ball that he didn't see flying towards him.
The adults were worse they literally gasped.
"I don't.. Have girls..? At all...." He said, confused about a way to say it.
"They don't know I'm your mate?" I asked.
" I don't think they should until I formally announce it at the meeting you heard about. It's to keep you safe." He said and smiled down at me.
"Why arrange a formal meeting? Why not just let the word spread around?" I ask.
"Even if we happen to be the strongest pack in the world, we have one weakness, the Luna. Everyone loves her like a mother, sister or a daughter.
"Everyone respects you and would gladly even give up their life for you. So in order to ensure the Luna doesn't get hurt and is recognised by every ally. We hold a formal meeting." He finished.
"That explains the mother calling to tell about her son's mate." I said and he smiled proudly at me.
"What? I do notice things!" I said and he chuckled.
"You're a perfect Leader and you make up for the people skills that I lack." He said and I blushed.
I heard a child cry and I spun around like lighting to the direction I heard the cries from.
I saw a child on the grass. He was crying hysterically and he had what looked like a scraped knee.
I ran towards him with Raymond following me.
I crouched down to his height and said "What's your name, sweetheart?"
"Noah." he sniffled.
"How old are you Noah?" I asked him with fake curiosity on my face to make him excited.
"I'm six!" He shouted holding up 8 fingers with proud eyes.
"Six?" I gasped, "you're such a big boy! Big boys don't cry, now do they?" I ask.
I could feel Raymond towering behind me.
Noah shook his head furiously and wiped away his tears.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"I'm Jessica!" I said with a small smile.
"Can I tell you a secret?" He asked.
I nodded and he came close to my ears and whispers "I think the alpha likes you!"
I giggled.
"Can I tell you a secret?" I asked.
"Yes!" He said with a proud smile.
"Will you keep it no matter what?" I ask and he nodded.
I came up close to his ear and whispered "I'm his mate, the Luna. But, it's a secret. No one knows and Noah I am trusting you to keep this secret. Okay?"
He looked at me with wide eyes, nodded and then hugged me and ran away. His knee long forgotten.
I got up and stood next to Raymond, I hugged his waist and stood on his side as I watched the kid play around, stealing glances at me some times.
"Care to tell me your secret?" Raymond asked.
"It's mine and Noah's but you'll find out soon enough." I said.
"I never thought I'd be jealous of a six year old and he would've been fine, you didn't have to really help you know." He said.
"They are the future pack. You want them to respect you, not fear you." I said, I ignored his heated stare on me.
I was sure I caught him off guard with that.
"You never cease to amaze me, Jessica." He said, still looking down on me as I smiled at the kid looking into my eyes from far away.
_______
I can not sleep! I tried so hard and it's the first day of school tomorrow!
By the way how is it?
I thought one nice plain and simple chapter will be good for this book.
I'm so not sleepy... But I should sleep.
I want pizza..
This was from what I think, probably the longest chapter I've written..
I'm in 10th grade you know.. Officially since yesterday..
Apparently someone, I'm not sure feels comfortable being mentioned, thinks I'm great! And I'm too young for this... Greatness.. XD
Do you think I should think of writing as a career option?
I need to sleep now..
I had to update though! Can't leave you guys hanging!
