Qiao Qing didn’t answer him. When the webpage refreshed and asked her to sign in, she entered her information.Luo Chen continued, “The other paper wasn’t that interesting. It’s one of those typical papers that looks just like the ones teachers would show as an example essay.”
“The one worth talking about it is the other one. It was narrative-style writing.”
“Did you know that the writing style is extremely similar to Feng Ci? I’m sure all of Feng Ci’s die-hard fans could tell.”
“Hmm? Qingqing, have you checked? What did you get?”
Right after he asked, Qiao Qing’s collected voice came through, “750.”
“7…. Wha… what?!” Luo Chen couldn’t sit right and fell to the ground.
He then picked his phone off the ground, “There was wind just now I might’ve sprung my ear. What… what did you get?”
Qiao Qing said, “750.”
Luo Chen gulped and said in disbelief, “Turn your cellphone camera to face your computer.”
Qiao Qing was speechless but did as she was told.
When he saw the number 750 on her screen, Luo Chen’s hand trembled.
“Qingqing, are you human?”
Qiao Qing’s face turned dark, “Who are you cursing at?”
“No!” Luo Chen rubbed his eyes, “You’re a god! This isn’t a score that humans can get!”
Qiao Qing, “…”
Luo Chen patted down his emotional heart, “So that paper really was written by you. That makes sense. It’s not like you haven’t gotten full marks before – other than the essay portion.”
Then he remembered something and turned extremely excited, “Yet you claim you are not Feng Ci’s fan! You had so many copies of Feng Ci’s books and your writing style is so similar!”
“So many authors tried to mimic Feng Ci’s style but none of them can do it authentically. You are the best impersonator I’ve met! Even the teacher who marked your paper thought so!”
Qiao Qing, “…”
She didn’t love herself so much that she would be her own fan.
“If there’s nothing else, I’m going to hang up,” Qiao Qing said.
“Wait! Don’t!” Luo Chen shouted, “Qingqing, it’s going to be your coming of age ceremony soon. I want to prepare something for you. So I won’t be going over for a few days.”
Just as Qiao Qing was about to speak, Luo Chen chimed in, “Don’t say there’s no need! Or else I’ll read it as you don’t treat me like I’m your friend!”
One sentence shut down Qiao Qing and her rejection.
She nodded and then reminded, “You need to make sure you are exercising enough. After a few more days, it’ll be time for you to learn the fundamentals.”
Luo Chen nodded aggressively, “Yes, yes!”
At the same time, inside an office that was brightly lit.
A group of teachers was paying respect to Yang Lianfeng.
“Mr. Yang, how much kindness did you show in your past lives?”
“This is the first time ever someone from the City of Brisk got full marks on the exam! Back then, her dad Qiao Zibo only got 746 because of the 4 points deducted on his paper!”
“Mr. Yang raised such a great student. I estimate that next year, you will be getting a promotion!”
“Also a huge bonus! Back then, the homeroom teacher for Qiao Zibo received $100,000RMB. Mr. Yang is not going to get anything less than $300,00RMB!”
Yang Lianfeng bought all of these admiration and kiss-ass statements. He was laughing so hard his lips couldn’t close.
But he couldn’t react too arrogantly, or else people would beat him off.
So he changed the subject, “It’s all thanks to the authorities who had the foresight to make the all-round competition so difficult. It helped prepare the students.”
“If they kept on handing out exams that were easy, the exam’s difficulty level would’ve been a real shock. It would’ve knocked out all the kids like what happened a few years ago! After all, this year’s exam was not easy.”
“Exactly.” Zhang Dejun chimed in, “This year’s exam was not easy. But the overall average improved a lot compared to the practice exam. Other than Qiao Qing, we should really talk about Luo Chen!”
