June 14th, 2052...
The Next Day...

It was now the next day and I was walking through the hospital parking lot while, holding Mia's hand. I asked Ash if I could bring Mia and he said yes. Mia wanted to see Riley too, Mia got to see Riley a few times in her life and they got along well. Mia is the most kindest little sister I could ever have and only sister.

I looked down toward my sister to see her in her own little world, her thoughts. She wore a fluffy purple coat since it was cold out with grey jeans and black knee high boots. Mia has purple eyes like my mom and had long brown hair like mom. She had bangs like Leslie though and his freckles. Her bangs would sometimes cover her eyes so, I would always cut her bangs a bit so she'll be able to see. Mia also acted just like Leslie.

"Hey sis, do you have the flowers we bought for Mr. Dolphin?" I asked Mia to which she smile and showed me the banquet of blue flowers in her hand that we bought for Riley.

Mr. Dolphin, is the nickname Mia calls Riley. I never really knew why until, she told me how Riley loved to swim and surf board. She also told me the memory of her, me, and my friend group went with Riley in the middle of the ocean on a boat and Riley jumped out of the boat to swim to a dolphin. The dude is crazy for dolphins, Riley acted like a dolphin when he was talking to the dolphin, which was funny as hell-....Riley got his name for acting like a dolphin and well, loving dolphins.

Me and Mia then walked through the hospital doors and talked to the lady at the front desk, for permission to go to Riley's room. We then went in the elevator to the 5th floor and out, walking toward Riley's bedroom.

I quietly opened the door and peeked my head in to see Ash by Riley's bedside holding the dirty blondes hand, Riley layed there with his eyes still closed and is still asleep. Riley looked paler then what he used to look like. You could also see he gotton skinner. Poor Riley, he looked weak, there was only scars left from the car accident a year ago.

'Who could of done such a thing to Riley? If so, what did Riley ever do?' I thought to myself.

"Stay right here and don't move Mia, I'll tell you to come in, in a second" I whispered to Mia as I then grabbed my phone out of my pocket and handed it to her. "Here, you can watch YouTube or tiktok or just play random games while you wait" I said to which she nodded.

I then, went into the room Riley had been kept in for a whole year. I shut the door quietly behind me but, it caught Ash's attention to which he flinched a tiny bit and sniffed as he quickly wiped his eyes. Ash, was he crying?

Ash looked over at me with a small smile and watery eyes, "Ray, you made it" he said quietly.  I just nodded my head.

"D-Do you......need a minute?" I asked a bit unsure. Ash looked like he wanted to be alone with Riley.

"Oh? No. I'm good, it's just....." Ash trailed off as he then looked toward Riley with a pained face as tears started rolling down his face. "W-Why?......why did it have to be him? Why h-his family?" Ash said quietly as tears kept coming.

"I just can't bare the fact that once Riley wakes up, he'll wake up to a living hell. He'll wake up to see he doesn't have a home anymore and no family, he won't be able to play hide in seek with his younger siblings or-or go surfing with his dad or cook with his mom because, they're dead-" Ash then started sobbing as he then grabbed Riley's hand tightly, not wanting to let go and cried into the hospital bed sheets.

I quickly ran over to him and sat next to him, patting his back and whispering comforting words to possibly calm him down. I started to feel tears build up in my eyes, I knew how Riley would feel once he wakes up. Waking up and discovering that your loved one/ones are dead is not a good feeling....I should know.....

After a few minutes, Ash finally calmed down. "Is it okay if I bring Mia in?" I asked Ash to which he nodded with a small smile.

I got up and walked toward the door and opened it. Mia was sitting on a chair outside watching random shit on my phone-

........

Uh oh.....

Shit.....

Um, I think I just lost my sister......she's not here....

Um......

Uh....

Fuc-

I quickly called Mia's name as I speed walked down the hallways, freaking out because I lost a 5 year old kid and to make it worst-MY OWN BLOOD-

I letted out a sigh of relief when I saw my sister walking down the hallway towards me with a panicked look on her face with two nurses by her side. One female and male that looked to be two years younger than me. The female had long blonde hair and blue eyes while, the male had dark red hair and Hazel eyes with a pretty big ass nose-holy shit-

I quickly ran up to them and grabbed Mia's hand, Mia had tears in her eyes and gave me a look that said 'I'm sorry', I gave Mia a confused look in return.

"Is this your child sir?" The female said with an angry look as she tried her best to be intimidating, she failed, how sad. I have seen this female at school and she's a very kind and shy person.

"Yes and no" I answered with a smirk. The male looked at me confused.

"Um......is she or is she not?"

"I already answered, yes and no"

"But, you can only choose one?"

"Then.....Nes"

"What the heck is Nes?"

"Yes and no"

I know, I'm a total smartass and I get it alot. That was my answer though, I'm basically playing with their minds for making up a word but, it's true. Mia is my child because I came in the hospital with her which means I'm her guardian here but, she's not my child, she's my sister. How long is it going to take for these dumbasses to figure it out?

"Sir! This is a hospital which means you have to be serious and tell the truth!" The male said.

"But, I am being serious and I am telling the truth, your just too dumb to notice"

The female then turned to look at me with a flustered face in embarrassment when she noticed what I ment.

"Um.....Nat?"

"What Anna?

"He's telling the truth...."

"What-"

"The girl is his little sister...."

"I-......huh!?"

They were both so confused and embarrassed that I couldn't help but start laughing my ass off making Mia smile and the nurses flush in embarrassment.
