I stood there, the tension hung in the air threatening to break and take us all with it. Alec stared at me and Cera incredulously, this wasn’t what he had expected to hear but I don’t know if it was better to tell him the truth.

“What?”

His voice was weak now and I could tell that Cera had relaxed slightly now that he knew that Alec wasn’t posing a threat to me.

“You heard what she said, I’m her brother.”

Alec shot Cera a deadly glare and I didn’t have to look to tell that Cera was doing the same. I held a hand up to Cera, hoping that he would drop his act and just calm down. I was surprised that Cera didn’t know about Alec before now, or at least I assumed that he didn’t from his reaction.

“Cera, stop it.”

Alec returned his attention to me and I could hear Cera curse under his breath, he wasn’t happy that I wasn’t letting him continue this petty fight.

“What the fuck Kyte? Since when do you have a brother?”

“I only just found out.”

Alec looked at me incredulously, obviously he wasn’t buying this, I wouldn’t if I didn’t know better but I remember him and Sophia’s reaction just confirmed things.

“You only just found out?! Is this who you were talking about earlier?”

I nodded my head slowly.

“What the hell Kyte, you can’t just trust someone that quickly!”

I could see Cera tense up and I knew that if I didn’t shut Alec up soon they would start fighting for real, and that is a fight I knew Cera would win hands down. He was much older than us and he was taller and stronger than Alec.

“I remembered him thought, I already trusted him I don’t need to find that trust again.”

Alec just stared at me, he looked so shocked that I trusted Cera so easily.

“Don’t talk shit Kayla, you probably just imagined that crap. No offense but you’ve lost it.”

That’s when Cera lost it, he moved too quickly for me to stop him. He was holding Alec up against the wall in a second flat. He raised his fist and I began to panic, this would not end well.

“Cera, don’t!”

I saw him stop, his fist frozen in mid-air. Fear was etched on Alec’s face as he realised that there was no way he could win this.

I warily walked towards them, Cera had stopped but he hadn’t dropped his fist yet and I had a feeling that anything could set him off right now.

“Cera, let him go please.”

I could see the anger on Cera’s face and I knew how badly he must want to hit Alec right now because I felt the same. Alec had no right to be angry with me after everything he had said to me. If he thinks I’m so crazy then maybe I’ll just let my ‘hallucination’ beat him up, maybe then he’d believe me.

“Kyte, get this crazy bastard off of me!”

I saw Cera tighten his grip and my own muscles tensed, Alec had no right to speak in this situation never mind be so rude to Cera.

“That’s it, hit him if you want.”

Alec shot me a look of betrayal and I saw Cera smirk before he brought his fist down on Alec’s face. He went flying into the sink that was next to me. I turned to Cera who quickly shook out his hand before returning his attention to me, I looked at him surprised and he shrugged his shoulders apologetically.
